UFC 69 Weigh-In Results (w/ Big Pull-Apart) & Fight Order
The following are results from the official UFC 69 "Shootout" weigh-ins held earlier today in Houston, Texas. Don't forget to check out MMANews.com tomorrow night for the best live results coverage of UFC 69 anywhere!
UFC 69 "Shootout" Weigh-In Results (in fight order):
Prelim Card:
Josh Haynes (171 lbs.) vs. Luke Cummo (170 lbs.)
Pete Spratt (170.5 lbs.) vs. Marcus Davis (169.5 lbs.)
Pete Sell (186 lbs.) vs. Thales Leites (186 lbs.)
Heath Herring (245 lbs.) vs. Brad Imes (260.5 lbs.)
Main PPV Card:
Roger Huerta (155 lbs.) vs. Leonard Garcia (154.5 lbs.) [Swing bout]
Kendall Grove (185.5 lbs.) vs. Alan Belcher (184 lbs.) [PPV opener]
Mike Swick (184 lbs.) vs. Yushin Okami (184 lbs.)
Diego Sanchez (168.5 lbs.) vs. Josh Koscheck (170.5 lbs.)
Georges St. Pierre (169.5 lbs.) vs. Matt Serra (169.5 lbs.) [UFC Welterweight title]
NOTES:
* Haynes looks in amazing shape compared to what you'd remember him looking like on The Ultimate Fighter.
* Herring will be sporting the double-neon pink streaks as his hairstyle. He's looking similar to pro wrestler Road Warrior Hawk on acid.
* Imes is sporting the country-ass handlebar mustache.
* Grove and Belcher went nose-to-nose after weighing in, but then proceeded to just gnome kiss (rub noses together) each other.
* As soon as Sanchez stepped off the scale he was a different person. Calm and collected on the scale, a mad-man as soon as he stepped off. He was shouting and then immediately shoved Koscheck very hard. The two almost went at it and Sanchez had to be physically restrained. It didn't last that long, but it was one of the most intense moments in UFC weigh-in history.
* Serra came up next saying "how can I follow that?" to which Dana White replied "don't!" with a big smile on his face. As Serra was weighing in, Dana leaned over to Joe Rogan and Serra and said some kind of comment about Travis Lutter. It was likely a stab at Lutter not making weight for his title fight which he earned on TUF 4, the same as Serra did to get this fight with St. Pierre tomorrow night for the title.

what an ass of Dana to mention Lutter and say it in such a public place. the guy was cursing like crazy yesterday on the show and I still think the guy is trying too hard to create this tough image of himself.
Anyway, is there a link when Diego went nuts? I hope he gets his ass whooped tomorow. WAR KOS!!!! LOL

What an ass of Lutter for not making weight. It should be brought up at every single championship weigh in from now until the end of time. I support Dana White on this one, especially giving the TUF 4 winners a basic free pass to a title shot. What a fucking disgrace it was to everyone that Lutter did not make weight.

Ok, so if someone makes unintentional mistake, it is okay to rub it in until the end of time? That would make you an asshole.

He had MONTHS to prepare and make 185 pounds.. it isn't some monumental task.. He has no excuse.

Yes, unintentional. So he planned not to make weight? He is a dumbass for not making weight but it was of course unintentional.

Yes.
And yes it would make you an asshole, but so what.
To put it in perspective, think of your job. Lutter's job was to train and to make weight. If you failed that miserably at your job I would hope your boss would fire you (nothing personal to you, I'm just speaking figuratively). Lutter was pushed passed other more deserving contenders b/c he won a reality show, and then didn't make weight, and it doesn't and shouldn't matter that he unintentionally didn't make weight. It was his job to do it, and he failed, so he should be called out on it.
I don't know, maybe it is just my New York attitude, but horrible horrible horrible mistakes (intentional or not) made in your profession are inexcusable. If that makes me an asshole, then I am an asshole and wear the title proudly.
