I call it protecting your assets. What happens if CC or Fedor fights in another org and gets hurt can't fight for 6-8 months or gets retired? Yeah I know it can happen anywhere but the company has to protect their investment. Fighters are investments.

I don't care about what they do with their money that is their business. If they can't manage a million dollars (which is what CC will make W/ 3 fights) a year they should hire someone that can.

I am sure I am in the minority but I vehemently disagree with allowing top tier highly paid fighters to go where ever they want to fight. It is no different than an NFL team requiring their signed players to not engage in any dangerous activities i.e. skydiving, playing on other leagues etc.

Why does Pride hold a show once a year in russia? then fedor can fight in russia and for pride. They win both ways you grab new audience and you get the number one HW. It is a win/win outcome.

Mastiff, if it's only their top fighters that are held to exclusive contracts, then why when the lower level fighters fight in another organization do they talk about "getting permission" from the UFC. If you see them fighting elsewhere it is because they have been allowed to by the UFC, not because they have a right to.

I get your point about the highest level guys, but these guys that are making less than $50,000 a fight can really be hurt if Dana gets in a snit. Training is expensive.

Yes, Fedor and his brother Aleks are not training together, I don't think Aleks is with Red Devil anymore, but I'm not sure about that, nor if there on speaking terms or not.
