I think it was more prevelent and is what made him Champ way back when because MMA didn't have the refined style that it has now. Allot of fighters didn't know how to defend it and now it is part of MMA and everyone knows how to tie up someone's arms especially if they are in your gaurd.

hey douchebag, Misaki is tough as hell with a chin like iron, and Kang tore his bicep, but somehow the one-armed Kang took him to a split decision anyways
a healthy Kang can absolutely smoke everyone at MW except Filho, and i think he can win that fight with the right gameplanning

Gotta somewhat agree, Kang has become a beast lately.. but id say Filho and A. Silva, he can probably beat both but I dont think he'll smoke either.

Kang is a monster for sure, and I don't hold anything against him for the Misaki loss, Misaki is a tough sob. I don't think Kang would smoke everyone though, him and Hendo would be a great matchup (I think Hendo would pull off the decision btw). I like the Kang and Silva matchup too. But nobody should be dogging Kang because he'll be a tough matchup for everyone in the MW division.
