Why does Cro Cop have to wait?
A. Silva comes to UFC, fights once, gets a title shot.
R. Jackson comes to UFC, fights once, gets a title shot.
Cro Cop, the biggest signing, comes to UFC, fights once, fights twice, then gets a title shot?
Why is the UFC making Cro Cop take two fights before he fights for the title?
Is this a pure business decision in that the Jackson fight has to happen sooner than later to make the most money, and Couture v. Silvia was a big draw itself, thus pushing Cro Cop to the side?
Any opinions?

He has to wait b/c Sylvia was slated to fight someone already.
Plus, think of how many more people will know about CC after UFC 70 on FREE TV

becuase even the dumbest UFC fans know that eddie sanchez is crap and not on Cro Cops level. Plus his debut and randys comeback happen at close times. Im not really in a big rush to see him fight randy but itll probably happen at UFC 73 (my guess)

i dont know i think it has to do with they wanted to cash in on randy, because randy is a big draw, and probably wanted to show off mirko a little then send him in there to take the title

you dont have an unknown come and kill randy
then people wonder who the hell the guy is, they did it with Anderson. all the casual fans i know still dislike Anderson for killing Ace that way, and want him to lose when they see him fight, and like Ace more anyways
imagine if Cro Cop had no fans among the casual fans, and dominated the most iconic and admired fighter in the UFC?
he would be a hardcore heel

If Tim had fought Crocop instead of Randy, the fight wouldn't be as of much of a draw to the average fan. It worked out great for the ufc, Crocop will build more of a name. While the ufc replaced a hated champ with a fan favorite.

That is still going to happen. Cro Cop is most likely going to defeat Randy Couture in Vegas or some other place here in the states; this destruction will take place while the dumb fucks chant "USA..USA...USA" and all the casual fans will hate Cro Cop either way.
UFC should have given that shot to Cro Cop instead of Randy. Cro Cop would have totally destroyed Silvia, then Randy could come back and fight against Cro Cop, which probably would have drawn bigger than Randy v. Silvia. |
