Maybe CC asked for more time to get accustomed to the cage.
But the probable answer is Marketing, its all marketing. MMA orgs are promotion companies, not tournament businesses.

I think that with the guys the ufc are throwing at him cro cop could fight on a weekly basis lol. Anyways i think the reasons cro cop didnt fight silvia in his debut is A. he was injured B. he never fought in a cage before so he had to get used to his new stomping grounds. C. he's probably pissed he never got fedor again and probably wanted to vent some anger before going into a title fight D. why kick off the champs head and have the whole division want you when you can kick off every head in the division and have the champ horrified... never mind i thought silvia was still champ. i take that back couture is a man but you get my point

its all about the high dollar bill!If you were paying someone a seven figure contract you would want a return in your investment.Like this fighter making your org. more popular,Cro cop vs. Sylvia would had been a flop!we(us in the know) would love to see that but joe schmo has no clue about the LHK monster!Much props to the UFC brass for handling their business lately...Pride should be taking some notes!(For the record,I love both org. for their fighters, not because of the name)

This is a non-issue. So he has to fight a second time before his title shot? It's really not that big of a deal. I can't imagine Crocop is insulted by this, and it's just making something out of nothing.

Why is the UFC making Cro Cop take two fights before he fights for the title?
Is this a pure business decision in that the Jackson fight has to happen sooner than later to make the most money, and Couture v. Silvia was a big draw itself, thus pushing Cro Cop to the side?
Any opinions?

Mirko will get his shot. He needs a few wins, a built fan base, etc. Things are going to start heating up with new talent and old talent mashing. Smart decision would be to have Mirko fight Sylvia (since he is hated, gain some fans), or maybe Arlovski.
Pride is dominating in the heavyweight divison. UFC needs to get some hype around their heavyweight dvision. Probably see Cro Cop fighting for it at the end of the summer.
