This was on FightOpinion, pretty sure Zach Arnold wrote it:

Quote:
Jeff Monson wrote on his personal blog that he is going to be facing Kazuyuki Fujita at PRIDE 34 on 4/8 at Saitama Super Arena. This is interesting on a lot of levels. First, Fujita is expected to work in the semi-main event or main event slot on the card. Second, it fits into the PRIDE Japanese management mentality of “UFC vs. PRIDE.” Once this fight is officially announced in Japan, I expect Monson to receive the exact same coverage and spin job in the Japanese media that Nick Diaz got for his fight against Takanori Gomi (i.e. “UFC top class vs. PRIDE”). Third, Monson’s fight salary is not very high (if my memory serves me right, he fought Tim Sylvia for little money - $13,000 USD? - at the UFC November ‘06 Sacramento event).

I have a question. Why did Pride's two best heavyweights fight that fat pile of shit Zulu? Seriously...

All the pictures on Sherdog of Zulu are him getting stomped by Fedor and his butt crack hangin out against Big Nog. This guys needs to go on TrimSpa baby!

Time to see how good Monson really is. He could pick up a few wins in Pride and be right back on the map...or he could get stomped. The true test awaits.

those are my thoughts exactly...i think fujita vs monson could be a great fight, imagine if they slugged it out with huge takedowns and good ground work, it could be a very excieting fight...monson has good hands its jsut hes been fighting guys no were near his reach level...but with fujita they could both let there hands go...i think monson could pull out a subb....

i think if this fight happens it will be a great one, i hope monson does well i like the guy..
