AA vs. Crocop....why?

I just don't understand the people licking their chops over an AA vs. Crocop matchup. I have to admit, when Crocop first came over I was like ohhhh....I'd like to see him fighht AA..........then I thought about it.

Let's see *looking over Mirkos resume* Crocop has fought.....Fedor (took him all 3 rounds), Josh Barnett (beat him at least twice), Big Nog (was beating him silly til he got the sub....taking nothing away from Nog), Mark Hunt twice, kicked Wanderlei Silvas head off like a soccer shot, knocked out big Bob Sapp, knocked out Aleksander Emelianenko, also beat Fujita, Mark Coleman, etc...

now let's take a look at Arlovskis resume.....he's beaten.......ummm.....ummm...Paul Buentello....lost 2 of 3 to Tim Sylvia?? The one who gets no respect? .....Let's see, who else....hmmm.....anyone? Anyone?

Now look, Arlovski and everyone on his resume could beat me, so I'm not hear to talk trash, but seriously, why would anyone be excited about this guy fighting Crocop?? I mean, he's a UFC made star. They HAD to have somebody to create a rivalry in the lackluster HW division, so alas, they create Andrei "plastic vampire teeth" Arlovski.....I mean if nobody (and I know SOME of you out there respect him) really respects Big Tim, yet he Beat plastic teeth man twice, where's the beef? I can name about 5 fighters on Crocops resume who I personally think would destroy AA.....Mark Hunt, Big Nog, Barnett, Fedor, and probably many more. Hell, I'd bet Silva could overwhelm him.......so my question is, does anyone agree with this assessment? I mean, why's AA so great? Or is he? Is he just the best guy around besides Big Tim so he's a star by default? I'm just not gettin it....I think his sharp teeth are a cool gimick, but those won't stop a LHK to the head.

only Cro-cop in the UFC HW division moves like AA does and hits as hard, and as fast as AA does, his punch technique is flawless

he just has NO CHIN whatsoever

i agree with u to a certin extent, u give cc a lot of deserved credit, but u arent giving aa enough credit. cant stop thinking of the tim sylvia trademarked knockdown, he does have a good chin even though everything else sucks, he gets aa's and randys best shot and gets knockedown but not ko'ed, its funny to see his big ass hit the canvas.

nobody disagrees that aa would lose to cc, but then again anyone would given fedor and maybe big nog, aa is a top hw any way u look at it, as good as some of the others u just mentioned? no, but give him credit, besides ur the one who said at first u wanted the aa vs. cc fight to happen when cc first came to the ufc, where were u before u did all ur research under a rock?

AA is a top heavyweight by what standard? Shouldn't your record and competition decide that? Who has he beaten? He lost to Tim Sylvia TWICE! And I'm pretty sure nobody here thinks Tim could hang with most of the people I named from CC's resume.......as far as Arlovski having great striking skills.....well, ya, he's looked good against his competition, but look at his competition. That's like saying Crocop is a GREAT striker after the Dos Caras fight....well duh!

I've been under a rock matto.....a big one blocking AA's resume. I moved it now though. Not much to see.

I've been under a rock matto.....a big one blocking AA's resume. I moved it now though. Not much to see.

Dos caras is a pro wrestler you cant compare him to the MMA fighters AA has fought

and some people are capable of noticing great striking despite who the opponent is.. its obvious that AA is a great striker, it isnt even based on KOs even though he has serious power in his hands.. you can showcase great technique and skills no matter who your fighting, hell great boxing coaches can tell how good a boxer is by watching them shadowbox.

i see what ur saying, but he has reasons for the tim losses, he went for the kill to viscious and then got injured. but ur r right in the sence that the ufc has made him look better then he actually is and has knocked out a couple of people but not top level strikers, i guess the aa hype from last year actaully cought on to me and never left, but i do see what u mean, he is still a good fighter but u r right he could be a little overrated.

very powerful hands, has worked on boxing a lot, know he is good but dont know how he rates agasint top level strikers, guess well have to wait and see, not the best chin but great underused ground game. lets say he somehow and i know cc isnt easy to get down, but if he gets cc down it wouldnt be impossible to sub him. and if he somehow lands a punch which can happen, it wont just be a little error for cc, he would be out.

Like I said, I'm not knocking AA.....I just noticed a lot of hype about an AA/Crocop match like it was two juggernauts on a collision course and I'd like to see AA battle some A level competition before I personally thought the hype would be justified. I was pumped about the possibility too until I looked a little deeper. He will get a nice test against Werdum though and maybe he'll dominate and silence me and his other critics. I'm actually looking forward to this fight. I'd still love to see him fight Mark Hunt, Aleksander E, or Barnett.....

At least there's intrigue......

by the way, any boxing fans here? I was a total boxing junkie for years, but MMA is where it's at. Boxing is flat out boring these days IMO. So many bull$hit decisions and questionable (fixed?) endings I'm over it....I hope that kind of corruption doesn't seep into MMA....

Dude your forgetting that AA is like Fedor-Lite same skillset just a lesser amount of it. I belive he can have a war with cro-cop but will get knocked out. Imagine the fight with AA vs. Cabbage but aa is cabbage and CC is AA it will be a two round war with them trading shots AA comes out gets cocky that he lasted one round and his head lands in the third row end of story AA is great but CC is Super duper great. AA has potentieal but not the chin to handle CC.
