RUMOR: UFC 71 - Tito vs. Jardine

Here is the rumored card for UFC 71 so far. I know it is little far away, but oh well...

UFC 71: MAY 26, 2007 IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA

-Chuck Liddell (#1 Light Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Quinton Jackson (#8 Light Heavyweight in the World)*
-Karo Parisyan (#5 Welterweight in the World)* vs. Josh Burkman (#10 Welterweight in the World)*
-Tito Ortiz (#9 Light Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Keith Jardine
-Chris Leben vs. Kalib Starnes
-Eric Schafer vs. Sean Salmon


It looks like Tito is rumored to fight Jardine at UFC 71. I was hoping they would toss Babalu in the mix but after two lackluster performances in a row I doubt that will happen for a while. I am still skeptical of the Liddell/Rampage matchup, because everyone seems to be saying he wants at least two warmup bouts, but maybe Dana is getting impatient. Karo is always exciting, and is going against another top ten guy who he should beat in Burkman. Should be a decent event. 69 looks on the weak side but they are picking it up atleast a little bit with 70 and 71 IMO

This card will be really great. I'm excited about Karo/Burkman, Chuck/Jackson, Tito/Jardine (if they happen).

But I'd like to see maybe a lightweight fight or two other quality ones to fill the card. They should add Din Thomas to this card.

I was just asking where this stuff is coming from.

On the other hand, I don't see Chuck fighting that soon if he's going to heal his knee. I know he said he won't have surgery, though.

I'm pretty sure Dana has already said that Chuck isn't fighting at 71 because he has pnemonia. It was on TheFightnetwork.com's website the other day.

If the Liddell fight is off maybe they could move the MW championship fight between A. Silva and Nate the Great that was rumored for 72 up to 71. But after seeing Rich ask for a rematch possibly Nate will get the shaft.

Also, I still hope Rampage fights someone on this card.
