No Steroids at Pride 33

Fighters tested for performance-enhancing drugs, including anabolic steroids and stimulants, following Feb. 24's PRIDE card in Las Vegas, Nevada, have tested clean, the Nevada State Athletic Commission confirmed to Sherdog.com Monday morning.

In all, 10 fighters — Wanderlei Silva, Dan Henderson, Takanori Gomi, Nick Diaz, Mauricio Rua, Alistair Overeem, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, Joachim Hansen, and Jason Ireland — were tested.

Results for drugs of abuse should arrive in his offices later this week, NSAC executive officer Keith Kizer said.

Following PRIDE's first effort in Las Vegas last Oct., Vitor Belfort (Pictures) and Pawel Nastula (Pictures) yielded positive results for performance-enhancing substances, while Kevin Randleman (Pictures) provided a dubious test that appeared to consist of fake urine.

Belfort and Nastula's licenses are currently under suspension by the NSAC, while Randleman had his license revoked in the middle of Feb. He can reapply after Oct., 21 2007.

I was kinda surprised to find nobody was busted to tell the truth but looks like they are finally learning from previous experiences.

So much for the theory that everyone in PRIDE does roids. Hansen even looked bigger than usual.

I'm glad nobody tested positive, it just doesn't look good for anybody. I wondered why Pride fighters would come over to fight in the US while using steroids knowing they would be tested, especially Vitor since he's fought in the US. At least Randleman tried to cheat lol, Vitor just didn't even try. How long do steroids stay in your system btw?

Yeah, but Barnett fought at PRIDE 32 and was tested multiple times and passed.

I thought Overeem looked particularly ripped for the fight. maybe he's just too big for LHW and when he cuts to 205 he has zero body fat left, lol.
