I think he accidentally shaved a patch out of his sideburns and was unable to compete due to emotional damage suffered by the loss.

LMAO at your responses!
apparently he injured his back a week before the fight...that's what they said at the press conference anyways...what a bunch of BS. Tim didn't train like he should of and was outclassed and schooled by the MAN! EOS!!!

Well you've all heard of the "pre-fight jitters"...
I heard it was a rectum issue, something about prefight "shitters" and it causing some rawness and a rash?
Tim being the true champion that he is decided not to pull out of the fight but to apply some diaper cream and slug it out anyway, knowing that his injury was going to hinder his footwork and punching abilites.
Cut the guy some slack... He was injured.

from wikipedia:
It was later discovered that Arlovski had actually been significantly injured by a checked leg kick sometime in the second period which left him unable to throw kicks of his own or make any takedown attempts. Arlovski did not report his injury during the fight, as is required by UFC rules; indeed, the injury may never have been known except that it was leaked that Arlovski was having an MRI done on his leg a week after the fight. The injury caused his ankle and knee on his left leg to swell up to about four times its normal size.
When confronted by a reporter about the MRI, Arlovski avoided responding directly and would only say "I do not want to talk about my injuries or look for any other excuses."
THAT'S how a champion handles an injury.

No doubt. If a fighter has an injury going into the fight, are they required to report an existing injury or just after the fight?

They are supposed to report it before the fight, although I think the injury in this case happened largely in the fight. He came in with a slight injury but then checked a kick with his knee and completely fucked it.
Even though guys are supposed to report an injury, they almost never do.
