Big John's salary
Here's a topic out of left field for you...
Does anyone here know, or have a ballpark idea of, how much Big John makes?
Does he get paid per event? Per actual fight in an event? Per year? By a contract for a certain # of years?
Hopefully folks that actually know or have a strong idea will respond...not "well I know he's making a lot".

In one of our interviews he said that he makes around $1000 per event, so something in that area.

!!! I'm really surprised it's not more than that.
Easily the best ref there is, the best-known and best-loved ref there is, in MMA which is rapidly exploding.

easily the best ref there is?
he did a good job with the sylva/couture fight.. but that doesnt make him the best ref there is.

All refs miss things, all of them make mistakes...IMO Big John's the best there is...but this is such a smaller subject we needn't get fired up about it.

Ya they do but it seems BJM makes them more often, and while tonight he was very good at not standing the fight up.. he has been verrrry inconsistent in the past, and he is the quickest to stop a fight.. and I dont like how he nags the fighters.. sorry but there fighting eachother there minds should be focused on that.. they dont need a guy breathing down there neck naggin them.. he isnt a coach, hes a ref he should keep his mouth shut.
Yamasaki is the best at letting fights go on long IMO, him and Herb Dean are damn good at it.. and there not inconsistent with there stoppages
and you can bring up Hughes-Trigg 2 but BJM stoppin the Hughes-GSP 2 fight in the first round and playing it off as if the bell rang was worse.
