On the topic of spoilers
I haven't been a member of this board as long as 20-30 (or more) of the veteran frequent posters, and I won't try to throw around my opinions as if they have that much weight against theirs...
But I wanted to get this off my chest...
About spoiler topics: chill out people. This is a live sporting event; 90% of the folks on this board are going to watch it either live or TiVo it or DL it later from somewhere.
Now, if they watch it live, then nothing is a spoiler to them.
But if they watch it later, and don't want any spoilers about what happened, they shouldn't come here till they watch it!
We're all adults here, we know what is discussed on these forums. For goodness' sake, the name of the site is MMANews! These are the MMA News Forums! If one of the two biggest MMA organizations in the world just held their PPV tonight, or last night, a site called MMANews is going to be all over it and talk about most fights.
Think about this way...say you had a site called NBANews. You TiVo game 7 of the finals and will watch it later. Don't you think that till you watch it, if you don't want any spoilers, you shouldn't go to a site called NBANews, where you know 90% of the conversations will be about that one game?
So my main point is, just chill out on jumping on people about "spoilers". It's always going to happen, you won't stop it; many of these folks don't even think before they post (I understand that it's in the rules); and folks who haven't seen the fights should know they should avoid a site called MMANews till they do see them.
Anyway, not getting bitchy, just my opinion.

I happen to get my downloads of PPV events from this website and I appreciate that they can offer these fights...so...I do want people to follow the rules and NOT post event results on the titles to their threads.

All right, fair enough...I know I'm swimming upstream here but I'm just appealing to a little common sense...
Another aspect of this is signatures/avs. Let's say you came to the site today, didn't see the fight last night, going to DL it somewhere.
Everyone is behaving in the forums - no threads have spoilers in them without fair warning in the title. You can pick and choose what to read without reading about the fight.
But someone has, say, a picture of Timmy's eye after the Randy fight, as their avatar. Or a quote that is clearly from UFC68 in the signature, or a new signature bar that has stuff from UFC68.
Or, someone who lost a sig/av bet already has their sig/av, and that gives a good idea who won/lost a given fight.
Even with no "stealth" spoiler threads, you still have a pretty good idea of what happened in at least one or two fights.
So are you going to ask that nobody adopt sigs/avs from a fight night? And if so, for how long? 24 hours? 48 hours? 72?
Just my POV...don't flame away...I agree folks should show discretion. I'm only saying, the board is called MMANews...there's a good chance you're going to find out MMANews here.

In general, I try to keep spoilers out of titles and label the appropriate threads as spoilers the night of the fight (assuming it is airing live). After that everything is fair game.

I see his point, but a lot of us play on here at work and then watch the event later. Whatever. I just avoid the titles that look scary.

Yes.
I didn't get to see Pride 33 that night, had to DL it later...I came to the boards to get a link to DL just the Diaz fight since I had a sig bet on it...and when I got here, based on the thread titles I already knew what happened in a couple other fights so I'm coming from the perspective of someone who's been a victim of that but it was my own fault for coming to the boards at all if I didn't wanna know.

If you dont want to know what happened not going to a news forum would make sense.

If you are scared about viewing spoilers, don't read an MMA forum until you've seen an event. It's that simple.
