Props to Big John for no stand up in RD 1

It was great last night after Tim got knocked down and Randy had his back he was looking at Big John McCarthy and John said find your own way up. I totally agreed with that call. A guy like Randy Couture is gonna work and while at the time it was a stand still on the ground after that Couture started working punches and really looking for the choke. Sylvia looked like Heath Herring begging for the fight to be stood up.

yeah bjm did well in that fight, also remember agreeing with joes view that knees should be allowed on the ground, cause they should

I've never seen a ref stand up a fight with a man on another man's back, and Big John is the best in the business. At least I didn't have to see Lavigne again, it seemed like he stopped it too soon on every fight.

Was that that guy that immediately yelled "let's work or I'm gonna stand it up" every time it hit the mat? Yeah, that guy was terrible.

I'm kinda glad that Randy didn't finisht he fight right there, because then Tim would have just claimed that the knockdown punch was a fluke.

That's what I was thinking when it was all said and done....I'm glad Randy got the opportunity to leave no doubt whatsoever.

I'm also glad that Randy was able to beat the hell out of big Tim for five glorious rounds. I honestly though that Randy would get knocked out in the first (and I hate big Tim) but 10 sec in when RAndy floors him with the right, my heart almost jumped out of my chest. That was one of my favorite fights, and I have seen a lot of fights.

What I loved was Randy's presence of mind to keep his hands on the ground to keep Tim from being allowed to knee him. Randy outclassed Tim in every aspect of the game. It was great to hear BJM so vocal telling Tim basically that he wasnt bailing him out that he was gonna have to work. BJM is the only ref worth having really.
