Would Chuck move up if... (Spoiler)

After Randy's win tonight and Cro Cop's apparent victory in April. If and it is a huge if Randy beats Cro Cop the Liddell vs. Cro Cop fight loses lots of its luster. So would Chuck move up to fight Randy at Heavyweight for their 4th and seemingly final battle?

i seriously doubt that Dana would allow that to happen just because if Randy beats crocop and chuck moves up and beats him then the UFC HW division would be really really F'd up plus chuck would have to relinquish his Lhw title if im not mistaken. If that happened they would rename it the Chuck Fighting Championships. CFC

Well, if one thing tonight taught alot of people (those who thought Tim would breeze through Couture, or that Couture had no chance in hell of winning) its that you can never count Couture out. Sure, some may claim that it wasnt Coutures best performance, but for nearly 44 years old and fighting a guy with a 6 inch height difference, 40+ lbs, not to mention a 12" reach advantage, I dont care who you are, you have to give props to Randy for dominating that fight. As for Liddell/Couture 4, I couldnt see it being entirely impossible, considering Couture came back with a bang, and if UFC matchmakers wanted to follow a possible "copy cat" tactic and do a "Liddell/Couture IV" with the heavyweight title up for graps ( i.e. Henderson vs. Silva) but I dont see Couture taking the route, because he only has three fights left on that contract, and Im sure their already drawing up papers for a Cro Cop vs. Couture in the future, possibly the same card Liddell vs. Rampage? That would be one hell of a card!

i dont know i just think chuck randy 4 would sell like crazy at hw for the title, but i dont see randy making it past mirko

Yeah, Couture is the heavyweight champ now, his next fight should be a heavyweight defense. And past CroCop, Werdum and Arlovski are waiting in the wings, both of which probably represent a tougher matchup for Couture than Sylvia proved.

as far as Chuck/Randy 4 goes, Randy would take that fight. his love for competition would not allow him to say no. but would the UFC let it happen? hell no!!!

as far as Randy/Cro Cop and Chuck/Rampage being on the same card, yeah that would be sick! you could basically call it the proverbial "UFC vs. Pride" card everyone has talked about for years. but i dont think that card would likely happen. cuz Cro Cop/Gonzaga winner will fight Couture, and if they wait all the way til the time where Rampage will fight Chuck, it'll be too long of a break for Randy and his challenger. but if it works out that way, im taking vacation time to watch that show! LOL

I want The Ice Man to come up to HW division NOW .

NO Couture will NEVER EVER beat up Mirko Cro Cop , not even in Captain America Smarks Wildest dreams.....

I want Couture vs Arlovski as first title defense while Filipovic should take on Sylvia just after destroying Gonzaga .

Then Couture (or Arlovski) vs Cro Cop for the gold in the end of the year with Mirko FINALLY getting what he deserves so much .

Good, the more people with comments like these, the more sweet victory tastes when Couture wins. Nobody ever said that Randy Couture had to "beat up" Cro Cop to beat him, considering fights can end with a simple slip or an undercovered uppercut. Cro Cop has had one fight in the UFC, and now everyone is suppose to fear him? Not the case. Couture may be 43 years old, but he sure as hell has more heart than any fighter ever has. If Cro Cop was so great.....why hasnt he ever sported any titles? Kinda funny when you look at the guys record, and besides the whole "Pride Grand Prix" deal, he doesnt really have any monumental career achievements. Anyone can have "X' amount of wins without any losses ( look at Diego Sanchez for example) but without any career milestones, whats it all worth? You dont see people clammoring about how great and deadly Diego Sanchez is, and even he has a better record than Cro Cop (in a different weight class of course, but same principle)

i like Mirko, but i will say one thing to add to your argument against him...didn't he get KOd by Randelman? the same Randelman who was schooled by Randy Couture? why yes he did! LOL

Helluva fight indeed, and Im not saying Couture wouldnt have a HELLUVA challenge fightin Cro Cop, because he would, trust me when I say that I know and appreciate the fact that Cro Cop may be a highly decorated fighter when it comes to his win column or his KO column, but with the little respect I saw Couture get for this fight with Sylvia with people making comments like "The giant will put the senior citizen back into retirement" and junk like that, I just find it hard for anyone to make any kind of claims against Couture, considering every fight hes expected to lose, he comes out victorious. (i.e. Liddell/Couture I, Ortiz/Couture, Sylvia/Couture) I tried to avoid the whole Randleman situation between the two fighters of who's beaten him and who's lost to him, just because some guys have others techniques and styles dialed in a little better than others. That'd be like saying Tito Ortiz beat Wanderlei Silva, so Tito Ortiz could be Dan Henderson. Its a little more complicated than that lol. But I do see your point.
