I've seen Bert Sugar bounce around on his choices more than a superball. I watch ESPN plenty, but have never seen anything with boxing rankings unless it was done by Sugar. If anybody has them ahead of Lewis I disagree with them, why are you acting like it's an argument when I agree with you on the Lewis thing? Marciano fought the boxers that were in his era, Joe Louis retired momentarily and was in the service that's why Marciano didn't get to fight him until late in his career, wasn't like he was dodging him like Tyson did Lewis for much of their career. He didn't even want to fight Lewis when it happened cuz he was Rocky's idol and he knew he was going to kill him. But any man that doesn't lose for that long has my respect.

Every fighter loses, that doesnt make you any less of a beast
but around that time he beat Babalu, Randleman, Busta, Soulev, Overeem, Belfort.. you cant say he wasnt a beast then
I know Marciano wasnt dodging and beat everyone put in front of him but still Archie Moore might be the only good fighter he beat would you really consider Joe Louis a good boxer as over the hill as he was? it may not be all Marciano's fault but the fact that people ride the undefeating thing to death makes him overrated in my eye, I dont think he would be undefeated if he fought anyone great.

Chuck has always been tough but I just look at the 3 Couture fights, in 1 he got owned and in 2 and 3 Couture never had a chance.
I can't say Marciano is overrated because their weren't great fighters in his time, that's unjustified. Louis was 34 it's not like he was 44, just a little past his prime is all

It was Louis' last fight for a reason I wouldnt say he was just a little bit past his prime
and Ya but you do realise that Couture was in his 40s the two times that Chuck beat him though right? I still think he should of beaten him the first time but as long as Chuck blocks punches with his face hes in risk to losing like that
I do consider him a different fighter now then he was then but I still think he was great then, and hes great now.

So that has to be taken into account when talking about each fighter's striking. I'll admit Overeem is a better striker over the first 5 min of a fight, are you happy? So if you had the choice you would want the fast hands and technique of Overeem over the one punch sleepers of Liddell? Cuz i'd take the one punch power everyday of the week, and that has a lot to do with striking

I wouldnt consider "finess striking" as an oxymoron. There is such a thing as finess strikers in the fighting world. I hate to site boxing, but that is the easiest one to point out. Pernell Whitaker was a famous finess boxer who is a hall of famer that has only 17 KOs on his record. Taking a KO puncher over a finess striker works sometimes, but lets not forget what happened every time when Mike Tyson fought Holyfield...
As for Chuck and Overeem, I have to start by saying I'm not a Chuck fan, but he was getting worked on his feet that fight. The fact he took it to the ground kind of backs that up. Yes Overeem gassed, but bottom line is he did get knocked out, so kudos to Chuck. Another fight that stands out in my mind was when Chuck fought Vernon "Tiger" White. True Chuck won, but over someone with a losing record. Even though he lost, I think White showed us that Chuck is not the god that some UFC people think he is.
