Dana White says he cut Diaz cause of recent losses, at the pride 33 weigh in Diaz said he had been looking to move to pride for a while now cause he was sick of guys just lying on him, and he was sure gomi would give him a good fight that all the fans would enjoy.
Looking for your opinions, have no video evidence but was there and heard him say it.

I see where both guys are coming from, Diaz lost some marketability with the casual fan after losing 3 in a row. But I agree with Diaz that they should match him up better. But this is MMA. Diaz has a very bright career in front of him. I could see him being the EXC WW champ as well as Pride Lightweight Champ. Hopfully Diaz will be around a long time, I want to see him try and avenge some of his loses, Karo (I think Karo would still win), Sanchez, Riggs, ect. Hopfully we will get a chance to see some of these fight.s

Dana is more full of shit
Diaz is right, he should be sick of guys jusy laying on him, he should be sick of havin to face much bigger opponents time in and time out there are just gonna use there size and power advantage to lay on him for 3 rounds.. finally we get to see Diaz at his best weight, at full potential.

could be both/either. diaz lost three in a row, but took a fight on short notice against neer, so the ufc rewarded him after that with another fight, against tibau, then officially let him go as they intended to after sherk. or diaz could still have been with the ufc, but left after the tibau fight for pride. dunno

I get what you're all saying in that Diaz is better at 160 or 155 than at 170 because of his size but at the same time I don't cut him any slack because he can't beat dominant wrestlers, I mean do we ever see Crocop laid on by a grappler? No because he has good takedown defence, I believe if Nick had better Take down Defense he would be a force along with Bj, GSP and Hughes in the UFC WW division.

I've been officially on the Diaz bandwagon for some time now...against Diego I had to root for him to lose but against nearly anyone he fights I love the guy and want to see him win...loved to see him dominate Gomi...I hope whichever organization Diaz stays in, he will find success.
IMO while he's not P4P one of the best fighters on earth, I think he's among the 10 or so most exciting fighters to watch fight, in any weight class and organization, in the world.

absolutely diaz needs to SPRAWL. also he should strike like he did against lawler sometimes, that'd be even more exciting than the accurate and technical display we see now.
