Diaz left because he knew he could never make it to the top draw in a class like the UFC's MW division arguably the most stacked weight division in any org anywhere in the world. He's not gona beat Hughes or GSP meaning that Pride was the right move for him, he's got great exposure there and for once was the bigger of the two fighters making things easier for him.
I respect him as a fighter immensely and like his mix of styles but he's not the right body build to take on shorter stockey wrestlers who can control him on the ground as previously shown. I hope he continues to do well in Pride and the weight class seems perfectly balanced for him there.

I don't think so, and I don't think the Gomi "fans" (since nuthugger has become unfashionable) would maintain that either. In their minds their guy didn't actually fight Diaz on 2/24, that was some other guy out there.

you missed my point
If you have an immediate rematch and Diaz loses, that looks bad on Prides part and i'd hate to see it..
but if you have Gomi fight someone else, and Diaz fight someone else and both win its a different situation.. you just cant have an immediate rematch for the title like that with Nick losing, it would make his win over Gomi worthless.

I think it's interesting that Diaz was supposed to be included on the TUF Comeback. He's more deserving of a contract than many of the participants from that season.
I'm sure Dana would have kept him had he been on the show. I'm also sure Diaz would have made Chris Leben look reserved by comparison.

Dana should be kicking himself for letting Diaz go. He does talk sh!t but he backs it up. He said he was going to kick Gomis ass and he did. Im not someone who pulls for a cocky sh!t talker but I have to give him credit. He beat one of the best P4P fighters in the world. Not to mention he was cut really bad. Many fighters would have let that get in their head. Not Nick.
