No because he has good takedown defence, I believe if Nick had better Take down Defense he would be a force along with Bj, GSP and Hughes in the UFC WW division.
Look at it this way hes facing Wrestlers that are much bigger then him, and in the judges eye he cant win off his back even though he at times does a lot mroe off his back then his opponent does in top position (im not gonna argue or bring up the fight in which this happened) so really should he be shafted for using his BJJ as a defense rather then his sprawl? its not his fault that the Judges dont ever see a fighter as winning off his back even if they are, and he shouldnt of faced 3 more powerful wrestlers back to back to back thats just bad match-making.

Absolutely. Nick doesn't lack a lot. Takedown D is one thing he does lack and that hurts him because he's so slight that once on the ground he's at the mercy of the other guy...good thing that he stays active and is good at working submissions, but against someone like Diego whom he won't sub, he'll just get beat on for three rounds.

KO power is another thing Diaz lacks; but IMO what he lacks in one-punch, Liddell type of KO power, he makes up for in accuracy, technical (though unorthodox) striking, and quantity of shots which cumulatively can put you down (ask Takanori Gomi or Robbie Lawler).

Both are probably right. Diaz lost three in a row, but who did Dana call when he needed a fighter to fill in on the under card, and on short notice - Diaz (a couple of cards ago). Diaz was probably tired of guys laying on him , then winning the fight. He's a striker/BJJ guy and wrestlers are not a good matchup for Diaz (Yea I know it's called MMA, Palma).

He even said he's not worried about the elbows in Pride, and I guesss he's gonna have learn the soccer kick.

Anway what does it matter????

Absolutely agree with ya man the judging system does favor wrestlers in America but I'm feeling the way of if you can't win then get better. yanno? After Saturdays performance I can't wait to see him again in Pride maybe against Sakurai or Aurelio.

ya but look at the span between the fights

3 months after the Diego fight he fought Riggs

2 months after the Riggs fight he fought Sherk

not really significant time to improve, not making excuses just saying the match-making could of favored Diaz more, he had a ton of potential and if he had better match-ups he could of became a name in the UFC instead of facing guys that clearly outmatch him back to back to back like that.

I hope to GOD he doesnt get an immediate rematch with Gomi, he deserves a title shot no doubt but it would just look so stupid for Nick to get a title shot right away.. if he loses it just looks bad on him, give Gomi a fight and Nick a fight then if they both win set up the rematch so atleast Pride can say well they improved thats why the results are different if they happen to be different.

You think Pride would claim that their dominant LW champion, who's widely considered to be one of the best P4P fighters in the world, suddenly got even better after a loss to Diaz, one fight, then another fight in which (in this scenario) he beats Diaz?

I don't think so, and I don't think the Gomi "fans" (since nuthugger has become unfashionable) would maintain that either. In their minds their guy didn't actually fight Diaz on 2/24, that was some other guy out there.

Diaz can't fight in Nevada for six months. I'm NOT sure if it's wise for him to fight until his orbial heals a little more.

As I said he was matched unfavorably in those contests but at the same time. If you can't survive at a certain weight class then don't fight at it unless you're not going to complain about getting beat by bigger fighters.

The only exception to this was Bas beating Randleman where Randleman laid on him (literally) for 25 minutes straight or however long the fight was. Bas was awarded the victory and everyone in Randleman's corner through a fit.
