ELITE XTREME COMBAT: MAY 5, 2007 ON SHOWTIME

-Murilo "Ninja" Rua vs. Joey Villasenor
-Jake Shields (#6 Welterweight in the World)* vs. TBA

Note: Nick Diaz was originally scheduled to fight on this card, but it is unlikely that Diaz will be medically cleared to fight by May 5th due to the large cut he suffered during his February 24th win over Takanori Gomi at the Pride event in Las Vegas.

Main card airs live on Showtime on Saturday, May 5

I personally don't want to see Diaz in Elite XC. I don't have showtime, and it would sucks if I wouldn't be able to see him fight. I think though, after this fight with Gomi, Pride FC would be stupid not to sign Diaz to at least a 3 fight deal. Anyone want to see Gomi v Diaz 2 for the title? /raises hand

Yeah i am hoping since i dont have Showtime either that they do one on a free preview weekend. I heard HBO was suppose to be trying to do something as well would be great since i have HBO.

UFC is supposed to be on HBO, but they can't agree on announcers. The UFC want to use Rogan and Goldberg and HBO wants to use their own announcers.

Yeah, dana mentioned that on the radio show. I think they sould just have Rogan and a HBO announcer. I'm sure the average HBO announcer could easily do as good or better than Goldberg.
It might be interesting to have a HBO announcer that doesn't know MMA. Rogan could explain to him, and also the new HBO audience what the finer points of MMA are.
They could add Lennox Luis as a third. (JoKING)
