Default Thoughts on Russow...

I was just wondering what your guys's thoughts were on the 6th fight between Russow and Sergei. Although Russow lost I was impressed by the way he controlled the entire round up until the armbar. I think once he learns to fight a bit more under control and defense against submissions he could be an up and coming fighter. Just wondering what you all thought?

Russow impressed me, yet Kharitonov isn't the same as before. He's not the same Kharitonov that destroyed Rizzo, Murilo Ninja, Schilt, etc...

after that injury, he really changed. besides the poor sportsmanship by Russow, i would like to see him fight again.

my brother brought up an interesting point regarding the poor sportsmanship issue...

he said he thought it looked like Russow was actually complaining that Sergei held him long after he tapped - not trying to argue that he didn't tap.

I thought it was an interesting possibility, but I'm not really sure what I think.

If indeed he was crying about being held after he tapped, he needs to learn how to get his point across a little better. he did the slow lazy tap lol, usually when your arm is about to break you tap with a little more urgency.

anyway, just throwing that out there

Russow did look good. I'll be interested to see him fight again.

One of the commentators made a good observation about Russow being really green in MMA, and I think it showed. I haven't watched the fight again, but it looked like he left his arm in all day. Not to take anything away from him, he looked good, but a little sub 'd' goes a long way.

i think he looked like a guy who is a good wrestler.

we'll see with time where he goes. he def looks more like your usual american wrestler trying mma. he'll never be a top bill anywhere. but can come in a give a competative fight. i don't know if he is going to be in Pride again. But he would fit the mold of half the UFC hw division.
