Has the UFC given up on Forrest?
Not sure if this has already been said. But the UFC is putting Forrest aginst Ryoto Machida at UFC 70. Are they givingf up on him. He was kinda their poster boy. Lyoto is no joke. Usuallt the UFC protects their "poster" fighters. Wouldn't they want to put him against "cans".

I think they want to focus more of their attention on Jardine now and use forrest as a stepping stone for machida so the fans really know who he (Machida) is.

People don't seem to understand that the TUF fighters are not meant to be the top tier fighters.
The TUF shows makes names to boost up other fighters.
Its main purpose is to create buzz around certain fighters; if the fighter wins, great; if he loses, the guy who beat him automatically be boosted into the spotlight.
Simply put : when a name gets beaten, the guy who beat him becomes a name.
ie MacDonald over Herman/Leben, Silva over Leben, Sherk over Kenflo, etc.

They've been building Forrest but it's not like it's his first big fight, they've already thrown him in with Tito. I think it's just that point where it's do or die. It's time for him to show that he belongs in the top of this division. As long as he's exciting they'll keep him around but at what level of contention is the question.

Exactly.
Forrest is very well known and he always puts up a good fight whether he wins or loses. And considering the fact that Cote is still in the UFC, I'm sure we can bet on Forrest being there for a long time.

Look I know Machida is suppose to be a bad mother fucker but from I have seen he is overrated. So throwing Forrest in there with him is no big deal as far as I am concerned.

I agree that Machida is overrated by alot of people, but I think he matches up pretty badly for Forrest. Machida's boxing is too technical and he uses angles well. Forrest's more open striking is going to play right into that. The one thing going for Forrest though is that I have to wonder about Machida's power. He has failed to put away Vernon White and Sam Hoger at this point and Forrest is durable, so he'll have all 3 rounds to try and do something that works.

Well, the way Forrest is being used to bring attention and to build up Machida sure seems like it. But I think Forrest's main role will be this anyways. He is popular so he will be around but no way will he be a championsip material. Machida dominates Forrest and Forrest will cry like a bitch again
