seriously, after reading all the bullshit posted in the last 24 hours, I am having serious doubts about MMA "fans" in general.

are you people watching the same thing I'm watching?

first: Pride 33 was a phenomenal night. I was SHOCKED more than once and found myself screaming at the TV several times. what I don't understand is that all of a sudden because there were several upsets, UFC completely owns Pride and Chuck Lidell is the best fighter to ever throw a punch?

second: Hendo, Diaz, Sokoudjou all won in dramatic fashion. they deserve all the respect in the world. however, all of a sudden, Wandy's washed up, Gomi is "exposed", and lil Nog is overrated? GTFO of here. thats just crap. its MMA, at this level, a loss doesn't mean you suck.

It was a huge night for MMA, I loved it all. the whole scenario got shook up, which can only be good for the fans. as an MMA fan, I look forward to an escalated Pride vs UFC rivalry OR a collaboration, whatever the case may be. Pride is great. UFC is great. all you divisive shit talkers should go back to watching pro wrestling

People always just have to find something negative about everything. There will always be haters and doubters that will nitpick at any little thing in order to stir a war or make some sort of controversy. I don't see how it hurt Pride at all in long term, there may be some short term rammifications, but in the end everything always works itself out. Nog will bounce back, Gomi will bounce back, Wandy will bounce back. Great fighters always come back to the point where they were before. I'm just glad we saw the potential Diaz has at LW and a possible gem in Soko.

Nicely put...I've been saying that this whole time as well. Just because a fighter loses, it doesn't mean he's been exposed. Especially not against a guy moving down in weight classes who has an insane reach advantage against you. Diaz was the better fighter that night. Does that mean he's a better fighter period, or unable to be beaten by Gomi? No. Gomi dropped him in the first round before Gomi was ever in trouble. Next time if this happens, he will know to finish it. I'm not making excuses, but give Gomi some respect. The kid fought his fuckin heart out and only has 4 losses in his 9 year career...not to mention all of them came against top 10 fighters.

they come after each ppv, some survive but most go away, and this time it was really bad, one of the worst i can rememeber, ufc 66 and 67 had some but know where near this bad

I just dont pay any attention to them if they sound like trolls. It's good in a weird kind of way, it shows that mma is growing at least.

Ignoring them can only go so far. I don't want to be nitpicky but I think we need another moderator or two that are active and can squash the dumbass partisan "Pride showed the nuthuggarz 2nite" threads before they have a chance to grow.

You can't debate with these people. They're too argumentative and disrespectful. Any attempt to communicate with them in a civilized manner is completely futile.
