Default Did Gomi even train for the Diaz fight?

Does anyone think Gomi even prepared for his fight with Diaz? He obviously took him way too lightly. I've never seen a fighter so gassed before the end of the first round. It's particularly ridiculous, since normally the Pride fighters are conditioned to go 10 minutes in the first round. The fact that he couldn't even go a hard 5 minutes is a joke. The guy has no heart. He is a total paper champion. You have to give it up to Diaz too, for eating an absolute bomb that floored him and recovering to take Gomi out.

If he didn't train enough it was because he was sick, not because he didn't realize training for a professional fight is a good idea.

It aint an excuse though, but he didnt come into this fight in good shape thats a known fact.. doesnt mean Nick still wouldnt of beaten him but in that fashion? no way.. Gomi gassing that fast?.. cant wait for the rematch FOR THE TITLE HOPEFULLY, Nick could beat him again but I still say Gomi is the favorite.

I personally don't think he was ready to stand and trade with Diaz at that pace. Diaz was all pressure from the opening bell, and Gomi was just swinging. I train in all aspects of MMA, and will be the first to tell you that striking is way more tiring than grappling if you don't pace yourself. What we saw was Gomi throwing punch after punch, using up all his oxygen, and tiring himself out. If Gomi had tried to circle around Diaz, and strike when HE wanted to, rather than just whenever Diaz would throw a punch, there may have been a different outcome.

Gomi fought the same way with Pulver and did not gas in that fight.

Can't wait. I never understood why the UFC would get rid of a fighter who delivers in every fight, is never scared to go for the win even if it puts him in a bad position and always fights his heart out.

Dana must be kicking himseld in the ass right about now, no matter how hard he will try to convince us otherwise by now disscrediting Gomi and PRIDE, I can already see it coming.

The Gomi fight was the most bizarre fight I've ever seen. It was shocking to see Gomi not defend himself at all and just throw wild punches. He was clearly out of shape and acting crazy. Maybe he was doped up. Diaz looked lackluster in his last few UFC fights. This was a surprise. Maybe Gomi is overrated.

if Gomi was overrated, Kawajiri, Ishida, Sakurai, Pulver, and Aureilo would of beaten him.. the guy has holes in his game like every fighter, what happened last night was a case of Gomi f'in himself over with training, like he did in the first Auerilo fight by f'in himself over with his attitude.. its Gomi.. hes a great fighter, but like Penn his biggest obstacle is himself.
