Until Pride makes a decent attempt to gain popularity in the US no one really has a good reason to be down on the UFC fans who are ignorant of Pride. As far as they know it isn't Mixed Martial Arts but Ultimate Fighting.

stole the words from my mouth man....

I didn't even know Pride existed until about three years ago when I stumbled onto Sherdog. Then someone pointed me in the direction of free downloads and viola.

I had heard of Pride about 4 years ago but I thought it was like K1, and not true MMA. The first Pride I saw is when Chuck went over there (I've been a Chuck fan for almost 20 years now), I remember being so bummed about the loss to Rampage, because I didn't think he'd come back to the UFC and I was hoping he would go undefeated for a long time in Pride. Anyways, it wasn't until about a year and a half ago I started to follow what happened in Pride on a consistent basis. I really like Pride in some ways, but I am always more apt to buy a UFC PPV over a Pride, but that is beginning to change.

Expand your MMA horizons people! How can you be strictly a fan of UFC, Pride, or any other promotion? Its the same damn sport! I never miss a UFC or Pride PPV, and watch as much free MMA as I possibly can, even crappy UFN fight cards where Heath Herring makes an ass of himself. (sorry Heath, I know you were injured)

Its just weird to me how some of you can know about the existence of other MMA organizations without making any effort to partake. its like there is some sort of brand loyalty or something. are you really that simple?

flame if you must

EDIT: goddammit I'm going to be flamed to hell for mispelling "watch" in the title. crap
I'm confused? You said you don't watch Pride in the Title and in the post, but then you say in the next paragraph that you never miss a Pride PPV?

Why do people hate Pride so much?

do you find there fights boring?

do you find there fighters to be untalented?

what is the reason to hate Pride and want it gone? Pride is MMA, so is the UFC there both different styles of MMA, which is why MMA is so good why would you want this to come to an end?

I love how it is right now, UFC and Pride give the fans something different and it should stay that way.. it keeps the sport exciting, if everything was all one way it would get boring.

Chucks first UFC fight was 5/15/1998. Where did Chuck fight for the 11 years before the UFC? Is that promotion still around?

I just want to see Wand vs Chuck and CC vs Fedor II and Shogun vs. Chuck and Fedor vs Sylvia/AA.

If that means Pride has to be bought by the UFC so be it.

I'm just gonna go with the flow, and enjoy the current state of mma.
