Default Bisping 'Not Impressed' with Rampage

"The second time I was out in Vegas was during UFC 67 weekend. I always enjoy
sitting at Octagon-side and watching the fights and I really enjoyed the event.

After fighting on two live UFC shows now, the TUF finals last summer and now an actual PPV card, it has finally sunk in that I am a proper UFC fighter now, but I'm still a big UFC fan at heart, too.

But even though I enjoyed myself and the fights, I switched out of "fan mode" when Quinton Jackson made his Octagon debut.

Because he's in the same division as me, I took a very close interest in Jackson's win over Marvin Eastman. Because of his big win over Chuck Liddell in Japan a couple of years back, Jackson's come to the UFC with this massive reputation but, to be honest, I've got to say I wasn't that impressed.

I'd probably give Jackson five out of 10 on his performance, if you forgive the pun.

Even allowing for the fact that Eastman is a very underrated fighter, I didn't think Rampage looked like this killer who has put the entire division on red alert.

Jackson said he was nervous and I am sure he was – and maybe he'll show more of himself next time. I hope he does because I want my division to be the most exciting one in the UFC.

But like I said after my last fight, everyone in the 205lbs division (or 14stone 9lbs in English money) better watch their backs because I've not come this far just to make up the numbers in the UFC light heavyweight division."

I find the last thing he says very interesting. He's not in the UFC to make up the numbers, yet he's fighting Sinosic. Granted, Sinosic did recently beat British MMA star Mark Epstein so he will probably be a good draw with the fans, but he has to start beating better opponents if he wants to be able to get a way with talking trash about one of the top guys in the division.

wow Bisping being cocky much??? Yeah he has a 12-0 record right now but over what big names? He needs to stay humble and watch out cause he's gonna end up eating his words.

I agree with Bisping. Rampage wasn't as impressive as I thought he would be.

LOL. Laughable. Talking about not being impressed, I wasnt impressed by his last performace at all against a can. Rampage fought against Eastman who carries more skill and experience. The boy needs to keep his mouth shut, unless he wants Rampage to show him what its like to fight a world class fighter. Looks like the hype has gotten into his head. I wish he can make Rampage angry and have war of words and force UFC to make them fight each other. The boy will learn his lesson. Funny stuff.

Your expectation was too high. What were you expecting? 2nd round KO?

"jackson five"; nice pun. that was funny.

i'm going to laugh even harder when he is a bloody, knocked out or tapped out mess, laying on the mat after Rampage destroys him.

This kind of sucks, b/c I liked Bisping, he has a ways to go as a fighter, but I liked him. I guess he is trying to hype himself, but he's coming off as disrespectful.

I think this is just a ploy to get numbers up. Any fighter has to know who else Jackson beat, to just say "he beat chuck" kind of shows that Bisping may legitimately not have known Rampage's other great fights.

I'm done rambling. I hope they sign this fight (Rampage v Bisping), then give Rampage a title shot with chuck.

The only problem is, where does Bisping go after he loses?

I hope Rampage tears him a new one. I like Bisping, but talking smack about Rampage is not a good idea for him. Bisping barely made it out of that fight with Schaefer, with multiple near submissions. I'm not saying Bisping is a can or anything like that but man - don't throw stones when you're living in a glass house.

Why would you want to see this fight now? Let Rampage have his title shot and Bisping fight more cans, then when they are bigger names it can be a bigger draw.

I dont think Bisping is being cocky, sure he could be more humble but he's just being honest. And if your gunna blame a fighter for being confident in his own skills theres something wrong with you.

I was expecting a fighter that could beat Liddell as everyone who is gay for Rampage claims he can do. From what everyone says about Rampage he should have put Marvin away in the first minute of the first round.
