This would be the best heavyweight fight that the UFC could put on in the foreseeable future.
I think we'll see Crocop as the reigning UFC HW champion before it happens. No one wants Sylvia / Arlovski 4, so a Crocop/Arlovski fight will be maineventing a card probably around UFC 80 or 85.

I agree that the Crocop/AA match will be with CC as champ, but it'll be like UFC 80. CC has his match v. Gonzaga and then vs. Sylvia/Couture winner. AA vs. Kongo (?) and then 1 more. After that, that leaves both CC and AA for each other. OH....and a HELL NO for Sylvia/AA 4. HELL NO.

Arlovski has all the tools to be champ again. I don't think his chin is really THAT bad, although it's not very good. A fight putting him against Cro Cop could be closer then most think. AA is a beast standing and his ground game is very solid.

Arlovski's chances of beating Cro Cop would all depend if he wants to, and also can get Cro Cop to trade a flury of punches. In that flury I think we might see Arlovski connect.
If it's a striking/counter strike match I think cro Cop has the ability to pick him apart.
Arlovski would need to push the pace and try and end it early. He would have to understand that he may have to take it to the ground if he isn't winning the stand up war.
Arlovski has a Crazy punch! That shot he hit Big Tim with would have knocked out a lot of guys, and Cro Cop is one of them.
Say what you will about Big Tim, but he has a hell of a chin and if Arlovski gets the first shot in, there is a good chance he will finish it. I don't see Cro Cop recovering as fast as Big Tim after taking a shot like that.

Also remember, it was a short uppercut from Tim Sylvia that knocked Arlovski out. Not only does Sylvia have incredible punching power, short uppercuts hurt a lot more than wide looping ones. I know because I train in boxing. Think about it....a punch is at its maximum velocity when it's first thrown, not after it picks up a second or 2 of wind.

Isn't it also because of where the uppercut hits you? and because you don't see it coming?

It was a freakish thing the way AA got knocked out in the second Timmy fight.
I don't say lucky because I agree with Joe Rogan, there is no "lucky punch". But it was freakish.
Tim was all but out in that fight, and if it'd worked out that way AA would still be champ now and nobody would be speculating about his jaw....they'd be talking about him with nearly the same reverence that folks (rightly) use for Chuck.
I think AA has a better chance than most think to beat CC, and I would love to see an AA-Sylvia IV.

Give props to tim for a quick recovery time though. If AA had that he'd be wearing the belt right now
