I don't think so, GSP is great in every aspect of the game. he's already listed as top 10 P4P, why is no1 so far fetched?

You have Fedor who has beaten best of the best and you have GSP who only beat Matt Hughes, a good fighter, who is purely a wrestler with some submission skills in my mind. GSP barely beat out of shape BJ in their bout. GSP is a great fighter but to call him the best p4p fighter in the world is very very early. The guy didnt even defend his title yet and you guys are making him the best fighter of all MMA? That is just absurd.

GSP is probably my favorite fighter to watch at the moment, he is truly well rounded in every aspect of the game and I think will continue to develop.
As for being the best p4p fighter in the world no he isn't at the moment and only time will tell but I do reckon he is currently in the top5.

Apart from GSP I think the people who will develop into world class fighters (if you don't already class them as this) are Shogun, Sanchez and Evans.

Shogun - Well just watch the guy fight, some1 who can do what he does at that age, well if he improves at all it will be too much for most to cope with and I reckon he will.

Sanchez - Impresses me more and more with every fight I watch, become far better rounded than people give him credit for and watching the Karo fight never gets old, even in the Riggs fight I thought he found great composure to finish off the fight despite taking a shot to the eye socket. Him and GSP are gona have some wars for sure.

Evans - Not a massive fan of his but again his last 3 fights have impressed me in how quickly he continue to develop, he comes across as a true athlete that can turn his hand to what ever discipline he decides to learn. Not yet a complete fighter but one to watch for the next 2 years.

Man really at this point, putting anyone in the same category as Fedor is a lil retarded. GSP is without a doubt one of the brightest stars IN THE SPORT. Granted, I think he'd have alot of trouble in a OWGP type tourney, but alot of lighter weight fighters would. Anyone know who the lightest weight fighter was to win a OWGP?

You can look at it in any way you want but fact is that GSP defeated Penn and defeated Hughes. Neither of these guys are slouches. You have the most dominant WW ever in Matt Hughes with a 40-5-0 record and BJ Penn who has defeated Hughes in their first match before falling in the rematch. GSP has improved very much and is a very well rounded fighter. He has a bright future if he stays injury free. If GSP were to fight Penn today I'd still say GSP would win IMO even if Penn has improved his cardio. Everyone always uses the "BJ was just out of shape" excuse but that is getting old, BJ is always out of shape and thats his downfall. Rich boy spends too much time surfing and has even admitted at not training as much as he should. So if Penn doesnt get the proper cardio training then there should be no excuses, you lost because ur opponent trained harder. Its more of the BJ Penn fans making the excuses for Penn anyways rather than Penn making excuses. I'm not trying to knock on Penn because he's a good fighter but just annoys me that he could be so much more if he trained harder. Annoys me even more when Penn is aware of it and admits it too.

I do agree that we should see GSP defend his title more some before just throwing him at the top of the p4p rankings but the he has deserved every bit of respect/credit that has been thrown his way.

Yeah on the GSP p4p thing I do. I was just addressing what I saw as you not giving GSP or Hughes credit for because of ur like for BJ Penn.

No dude. You got me all wrong. I dont like Penn. He just happens to be a great fighter and I tend to be objective on all matters relating to MMA. I have no favorite fighters. artysmilie1:" class="inlineimg" />

I'd still take Shogun all day over GSP, even without a title on his waist. St. Pierre has a good shot at holding that title for a while if he can get healthy, but you never know. I could see Hughes retooling and beating his brains in as well. (I HATE Hughes but he is a GREAT fighter) Saying Diego belongs on this list is way out of line. So what. He beat Riggs, Karo, and Diaz??? Who gives a shit. Those guys are stepping stones. HE WILL NOT BEAT HUGHES OR ST. PIERRE. Let alone BJ Penn if that fight were to happen. I definitely think that UFC needs a WWGP if GSP can't shake this injury. If he's not able to fight by 71, do it.

I think GSP is a good fighter, but I definitely agree with those who are saying he's no Fedor. To put GSP in Fedor's league is a huge mistake in my mind. The truth of the matter is GSP has yet to really prove himself. He is still very much in the shadow of Matt Hughes who in all likelihood will go down in MMA history as one of the greatest Welterweights of all time. I'd like to see GSP defeat Hughes in a rubber match and defend his title three or four more times before we talk about how "great" he is.

GSP is not the best fighter especially when he loses his rematch to hughes which will happen one of these days
