Wasn't Melvin All-state in wrestling?

I really like both these fighters so this is defiantly a fight I'm interested in , as far as who wins I'm picking Stevenson, Guillard is a beast when the fights were he wants it but whenever he's put in a bad position he kind of crumbles like a cookie.

Stevenson has a mean gnp also so watch for ref stoppage late in the second.

I think that Melvin trains with Team Punishment more then Joe does. Where Melvin only trained with TP for the Edwards fight and even though Joe trained with TP he still had Marc Laimon and the rest of Cobra Kai in his corner in his fights and hasn't had any TP work his corner yet.

if he was, his state must have had low quality wrestlers at his weight class, because his sprawl is mediocre, reversals and escapes are the same, and like all wrestlers, he can't do jack shit off his back

I agree with everything you said. Melvin is a beast until he is put on his back. Then he is out of his element, and Joe is a beast with the GnP. Still a close fight if Melvin fights smart though.

imo melvin is over rated he hasnt beat anyone yet to make me think he is good, joe takes this in the first round

I agree... with the fact that he hasn't beaten anyone worth mentioning, but his hands are gonna be WAY too much for stevensen, look at Liddell vs. Babaloo, or tito, or horn. if Melvin has been working with team punishment then his wrestling has only gotten better, and he won't get taken down by Joe. Plus, Joe always looks really lazy with his standup, and if he leaves his hands down like usual he's gonna get punded. Melvin by KO, rd 2, as Joe comes in to shoot

I actually think this won't be too great of a fight. I see it with Joe taking Melvin down repeatedly and winning the decision.
