Crocops UFC 70 Opponent?
Who do y'all think? Unless Dana wants to save the fight for later, i think it will be Mirko Crocop vs Andrei Arlovski for the #1 contender's spot @ UFC 70 in Manchester, England. Despite AA's suspect chin, this fight on paper would be HUGE!!! Any other ideas?

I don't think that will happen. I have heard that they are going to put CC against Kongo and AA against O'Brien.
CC would get the next title shot, which he should win then AA vs. CC for the title. That would be one of the biggest fights the UFC has ever put on.

I agree, however, what if O'Brien beats AA. granted, he hasn't shown much yet, but everyone's gotta start somewhere. that kid could have some potential. same with Kongo. granted there's no chance in hell that he's gonna beat Cro Cop, the only reason he lost before was because he was fighting ground guys. he's got some killer stand up, and i would like to see him VS O'Brien if they both lose

Crocop's next 5 fights...Gonzaga, Arlovski, Sylvia, Sylvia, The winner of TUF6(heavyweight in beginning of 08)/Barnett (don't be suprised if he moves back to UFC especially if he loses to Fedor in 07). You saw it here first.

I totally can see that after his contract is up...It will make the UFC's HW a bit more competitive. Lets just hope he doesn't go to Elite after he loses to Fedor.

ZERO CHANCE CroCop fights Arlovski before he gets the title... UFC has nothing to gain with those guys in a non-title fight. AA wins, what do they do.. Sylvia vs. AA 4? No thanks. CC wins, and they struck out a huge draw of AA vs. CC for the title. NOT happening. CC fights a scrub at 70, then Sylvia (or Couture.. unlikely) in the summer.

Cro Cop vs. Kongo or Gonzaga
AA vs. Kongo or O'brien

kongo/o'brien would be a terrible mismatch. i think it would look just like kongo/marrero and o'brien/herring, both very lackluster fights. kongo doesn't have the TDD to stay on his feet and O'brien doesn't have the stand-up to stay on his feet. i sincerely hope this fight never happens

Yeah, i agree that it prolly wont happen unless its for a title...i'd just rather see it sooner than later. CC beating up on a scrub has little or no appeal to me.
