KO by upkick?

Anyone on here seen a KO by upkick in either UFC or Pride?

Trying to think thru the fights I've seen...I'm seen some folks get rocked by an upkick, but I can't recall seeing a KO...

Has it happened? If so, who/when?

Renzo basically put out Oleg Taktarov then hit with with a huge punch when he was on his back with his hands down. Anderson Silva also basically knockout Okami so bad that he couldn't continue but Okami was on his knees so silva was dqed

i thought an up kick was illegal in the ufc. but last ufc where anderson silva did an upkick to catch lutter in the trianlgle. joe rogan after referred to it as a beautiful upkick. so are upkicks allowed or not im kinda confused

Didnt joe riggs catch Chris Lytle with one of those?
Although i think that might have been an elbow and stopage by cut...

I think he both upkicked him AND elbowed him from the bottom in that fight...I was just watching that earlier today, that's what spurred me to ask this Q

Riggs didn't KO Lytle with that upkick. It was cut stoppage from that elbow.

If the guy on top is standing it is ok but not if he is on his knees

Yes, upkicks are allowed. When you're down and your opponent is up, you can kick him. You just cannot kick your opponent in the head (when he is down) in the UFC.

they're not illegal so long as the person you're kicking is standing. if he has a knee down, then its a kick to the face of a downed opponent and its illegal.
