Couture is 2:1 underdog v. Silvia
Couture is underdog against Sylvia
The veteran does not have the confidence of US gamblers
The fact that he was the only athlete to win the UFC title in two different weight divisions does not seem to have impressed American sports gamblers. So much so that the UFC bulletins released today by betting sites in the United States show that Couture is seen as an underdog in the bout he will fight against Tim Sylvia at UFC 68, set for the 3rd of March, in Ohio.
To have an idea, someone who bets US$ 100 on Tim Sylvia would make US$ 23.8 in the event of him winning. If the victory were to go to Couture, who has not fought since February of last year, the pay out would be of US$ 218 for evey US$ 100 bet.
Curiously, the biggest betting sites in the USA have not yet posted any bulletin regarding Pride 33, set for the 24th of February, in Las Vegas.
This is from GracieMag.Com usually pretty reliable.

of course he is an underdog. He should be even more of an underdog then 2:1. Randy has little chance here.

Anybody that bets on Couture is either a superfan stupid. Obviously, winning a title in a lighter weight division that the one you started out in, isn't going to impress anybody. Couture just had more of an advantage in LHW and still that didn't work out to well. I'm surprised he didn't move down to MW lol.
Anyways, those are reasonable betting odds, I was really hoping the public would of been stupid enough to think Silvia was the underdog though.

I think anybody who totally counts Randy out doesn't know what they're talking about. The argument comes up a lot that his losses at heavyweight came to big, big guys and that's 100% true, but he won the first three rounds in the fight against Ricco. Dominating the first two. He put up a good fight against Barnett before Barnett got him on his back.
As long as his skills are close to what they were when he left, I think this fight is pretty even. Tim isn't gonna put Randy on his back and use his long arms to pound on him from his guard. Sylvia could very well KO Randy, and I think if he does win that's how it'll happen, but I wouldn't count Randy out at all with his wrestling alone. I think there's a good chance he can get Tim to the ground and work his GnP or possibly submit him.

I love randy as much as anyone else but id dont honestly believe he has much of a chance to win. i wouldve made it 3:1 at best.
Sylvia packs some power. he will likely KO Randy. Ill be going for captain america but i dont see him coming back at his age

I agree the odds are reasonable, but why do you hate Randy so much. You have been hating on him ever since he came out of retirement, which was only for 8 months btw. Your complete biased opinion of one of the greatest UFC champions makes me wonder about you.

I wouldn't count Randy out but he's going up against a big-big dude. He's going to get bullied all over that ring. I don't think skill has anything to do with this match. Sylvia's size is just to big on an obstacle to overcome.

Lol, honestly, I always thought he was overated. I'm a fan of stand up and BJJ, Randy is just a one dimensional wrestler to me. Sure he's cross trained and has some sub skills now but I don't think his striking is that good at all. I think the first Chuck fight was a fluke and most of the fights he's won was from GNP and I'm not really a fan of it. He's a pretty good fighter but he just never impressed me. What do you want from me? I don't have to like the guy

Of course you don't have to like the guy, I just think you have no respect for his abilities. If you are not fond of the wrestling aspects in MMA then you are atleast consitent in your line of thought. I agree with you half the time, but when it comes to Randy I think you are just biased against him for reasons other then fighting. One thing to remember about Randy too is that he was around before this refined sport we know as MMA is what it is. Gnp was a step out of wrestling for fighters like Randy and Tito and they cleaned up against one demensional fighters. It was a step into what MMA is now.
