screw ed fishman buying Pride
check out the interview on sherdog
http://www.sherdog.com/news/interviews.asp?n_id=6716
this guy is more intereted in getting people in casinos than doing anything for Pride. he sees Pride as a way to get high rollers into casinos. i thinks its good he wants to promote Pride in different countries. but he's not interetest in helping mma grow. he wants to use mma and the Pride name as a way to make gains in other ventures. if he buys Pride other than the Pride show it's goin to become just like any other promotion.

i don't know brother.. i think i disagree with you on this one...
fishman seems like a pretty damn smart business man.. one thing that pride needs right now is someone who knows how to market the product and to make it mainstream here in america and all over there world.. i think this maybe the guy to do it...
if you read the article he seems pretty adament about setting up cross promotional bouts to find out who truly is the best..... as an mma fan, is there anything more you could really want?
as far as making the casinos happy and trying to appease them with the prospect of potential rich asian gamblers... the hell is wrong with that? that's smart... that makes the casinos and other possible venues a little more willinging to want to partner with pride in putting up these huge shows whether here in the states or in china, or anywhere else for that matter... it all boils down to money.. if a casino or venue doesn't see any type of possible profit from a partnership with pride, why would they want to go that route?
like i said, dude seems like a straight business man.. with pride's recent troubles with losing their television deal and trying to really break out internationally, the best bet seems like a guy who has a lot of experience in that field and knows how to market the product in a way that will appeal to americans and the international audience....
i'm very curious to see how this goes.. as long as there is pride fc, their ring, the whole show of it all, and the rules, i don't care who owns it as long as they're trying to make it even bigger and better than it is/was... i'm all for it homie.

I was thinking more along the lines of hiring someone with some sort of business since, but I won't argue with you.
