So I guess it has been working for him until recently when he fought GSP. Now in the next fight when he comes in with a gameplan I expect a much better fight, he may win or may not, GSP is just that good but it shouldnt be the ass kicking it was last time.

As for Penn, I have never seen such a natural talent go to waste and it will if he doesnt refocus himself soon. I dont care if he came into shape for the Hughes fight or not lets just look at the facts.

Pulver - Was winning that fight dominatly, then lost the last 3 rounds.

GSP - Whooped his ass for the first round and a half... then fell apart again.

Hughes - Was beating him for two rounds too, but then finally succumbed. And I still believe injury or no injury Hughes would have stopped him, either in the 3rd, 4th, or 5th because Penn would have gassed and Hughes doesnt.

The biggest wins of his career are Hughes and Gomi both about 4 years ago. And he hasnt done anything since. Yea he beat Daune Ludwig... but so did Sammy Morgan.
You can say that Penn woulda gassed in round 4 or 5 but thats an assumption, and another assumption is whos to say he wouldnt of beaten Hughes in round 3?

Not necessarily (ironically the Bible and Koran advocate the slaughter of people of different faiths - imo it is just to attack faith in such ideals). However, your interpretation of people's jesting in this thread is profoundly stupid.

It is not the fact that he has faith that has been attacked, but the notion that faith is all you need to be a successful fighter (he finally acknowledges the need for skill and practice etc in this interview, but says that until now he didn't feel they were needed at all). That is absurd. It belittles the skill and hard work of all mma fighters himself included, and deserves to be ridiculed.

The way things were going, if the fight would have went the distance, I see BJ winning the first 3 rounds decisively and then BJ gasses a little in the 4th and 5th rounds which would have been much Closer with Hughes taking them, but never being able to finish BJ. BJ winning by a unanimous decision.

and its still an assumption to say he'll gas just cuz he gassed in other fights, he coulda came into this fight in diff shape

who knows why he got injured! he GOT INJURED thats a fact, it wasnt really something Hughes did but more of what Penn did, he made a mistake and Hughes capatilized on it.. Penn lost pretty fair and im not arguing that it was a fair loss im just saying under diff. circumstances he wouldnt of because hte chances of Penn getting injured against Hughes are slim, so the chances of him beating Hughes in a rematch are great.

I think an in-shape BJ PENN that can go full out for 5 rounds could beat anybody at 155,170, and most at 185 tomorrow.

Yup, but that has nothing to do with him being delusional. It's rediculous for any MMA fighter to believe that faith alone is going to win them a fight. It's also insulting to the fighters that work extremely hard and aren't as gifted as Matt is. If Matt is just now realizing it takes more than faith to win a fight, he is one gifted human being that should be very thankful for where he is. Walking around thinking you are destined to win every fight is not normal. I'm not insulting his faith. I'm just pointing out the fact that he's nuts.

Actually, what scares me the most is that people can read what he wrote and NOT think he's nuts. Now that's scary.
