he doesnt have one embarassing loss on his record, and he has great wins.. vs Gomi the top LW in the world, vs Hughes, vs Uno, vs Din who is a good fighter.
Matt Hughes has some bad losses too! Dennis hallman twice, and Pele.

Shit, I felt he gassed against GSP, also. It could have gone either way, but it just didn't seem like Penn could pour it on at the end. This is a guy who knocked out Uno and submitted Gomi (though that was 4 years ago)!

and its not even up for debate that his standup and BJJ is great, his takedown D is damn good.. his only glaring weakness is his cardio but thats it! most fighters have bad standup, wrestling, JJ more then 1 weakness.. BJ only has cardio issues which is the easiest to work on.. I rather have cardio issues then bad BJJ, Wrestling, or striking.

That always just made me scratch myhead. When you are well known to have poor cardio and lose ur matches due to gassing why in the hell would you not go and improve ur cardio. (*hints Penn, Overeem*)

I felt he did somethin about it for the Hughes fight, comin in at the weight he did you know he was in great shape but he got injured.

I, for one, lost a ton of respect for Hughes after that stunt. And then he said GSP was disrespectful after GSP said he was unimpressed with Hughes' win vs. Penn? Hughes got what he deserved and the only thing better than the GSP victory in GSP/Hughes 2, is a unconscious, humbled Hughes at the end of GSP/Hughes 3. Sad Hughes couldn't give appropriate props to GSP owning him in that match. Conceited punk.

not to mention his absolutely dumb ass comments about how he deosn't want to be beaten by a canadian, canadian's aren't fighters, you dont see them "helping" people all over the world blah blah blah. I used to like Hughes but now i think hes a dumbass american farmer piece of shit, I hope in there next fight GSP kicks his big swollen dumb ass head right off.

The fact that he would admit going into a fight against GSP unprepared like he says is probably the lamest excuse I have ever heard and should honestly tarnish his image as a champion. People discredit BJ for going in out of shape when Hughes just admitted to the exact same fucking thing. Honestly it wouldn't matter regardless of his training in my opinion because he will never beat GSP unless GSP seperates a rib or blows his knee out during the fight. Lame excuses on Hughes' part, and just exposes him as coming up with bullshit just like Ortiz. He was outclassed and there's no reason he can't admit that, even months later...seriously wtf.

matt was out classed, and he tryed standing. he came in with a horrible game plan, i think him being on top for so long got to his head and he stoped training as hard and thats his own fault. im a big matt fan but gsp beat him and thats that. i hope next time he comes in with a better plan and puts up a better fight

I think he's kinda jumping to conclusions here.
Perhaps GSP simply had more faith?

I'm a hughes fan, and I think it would be awesome if Matt came back and beat GSP. I dont see it happening though. GSP is an awesome champion and I don't see anyone beating him anytime soon (maybe bj).

I really dont see his blog as an excuse as to why he lost. He is merely stating/recognizing his flaws leading up to and during his fight with GSP. Hughes is basically blaming himself for not preparing enough, he never put GSP down and he stated what he needs to improve in.
Anyways not that I'm a die hard Hughes fan but sometimes seems ppl are quick to bash the guy simply because they do not like him. I expect a better fight with GSP/Hughes 3 but after the last fight it's hard to bank on Hughes winning. He for sure needs to take Georges to the ground and keep it from a striking match.
