Matt Hughes didn't exactly dominate the first bout with GSP either despite his sub. win.

I'm with you man. "Nuthugger" is kinda gettin played out anyway and I haven't even been on the site that long. Most overused word/phrase on the site... right up there with " he's gonna (pick your attack) into (pick your number) row".

Well ok, not a nuthugger....how about the old 1980's term for it: jumping on the bandwagon.
There's so many people on the GSP bandwagon I don't know how you keep fitting more guys on.
All I'm saying is that if Matt beats him in the rubber match, there's going to be a lot of head-scratching going on on that bandwagon.

Hughes was outclassed AND outskilled in that match. I used to really like Matt Hughes, but I found it soooo fitting that GSP didnt just win, but handed Hughes his ass after the TUF episode where Hughes asked GSP if he wanted to go over how to defend an armbar. I, for one, lost a ton of respect for Hughes after that stunt. And then he said GSP was disrespectful after GSP said he was unimpressed with Hughes' win vs. Penn? Hughes got what he deserved and the only thing better than the GSP victory in GSP/Hughes 2, is a unconscious, humbled Hughes at the end of GSP/Hughes 3. Sad Hughes couldn't give appropriate props to GSP owning him in that match. Conceited punk.

maybe because hes good? lol
and what are you gonna say if Matt doesnt beat him?
I do agree that people skyrocketed GSP too early, Top 5 P4P? nah hes at #9 on my list.. the guy has beaten a lot of good fighters but I cant overlook the other fighters that have beaten a ton of great fighters too and were on top for much longer, and I dont think GSP is unbeatable just because hes so well-rounded.

If Matt doesn't beat him I will say GSP is the better fighter. I won't be making excuses and I won't be crying that the judges robbed him.
The thing I hate about bandwagoneers is not their support for a particular fighter...it's their blind support.
Look at the BJ Penn threads which got so far out of whack...I give BJ Penn props but he's a human, and he's not even a human with a good MMA record. Folks jump on the GSP and Penn bandwagons as though these other fighters, who are world class fighters who have beaten up world champs and world champ contenders time and time again, don't even deserve to be in the ring with them.
Let's keep these guys in earth's atmosphere until there's a good reason not to.

and u gotta consider how he fight in all those loses
1 was against a guy that outweights him by a bunch
1 was against Pulver, who he tapped out but Pulver was saved by the bell
1 was against GSP in a razor close decision no shame in that
and against Hughes who he outclassed for 2 rounds, then gassed/got injured whatever you wanna call it
he doesnt have one embarassing loss on his record, and he has great wins.. vs Gomi the top LW in the world, vs Hughes, vs Uno, vs Din who is a good fighter.
Matt Hughes has some bad losses too! Dennis hallman twice, and Pele.

It is kind of a well known fact that Hughes doesn't ever have a game plan. Rogan mentioned this as early as his first fight with Penn when he talked of his fight with Sherk and he only focused his training for a couple of weeks before the fight. Which makes me wonder how good Hughes would have been if he did bring a gameplan to every fight. Because he has dominated poeple for years without a gameplan.
This also makes me wonder at what kind of Hughes we are gonna see if comes in focused, with a gameplan, and some hard training. Not I am not saying Hughes is gonna beat GSP, but if Hughes does come in better prepared then this should be the war that I think we were all expecting the last two fights to be.
