Goldberg said that and I think he was making a Joke of Goldbergs statement.

The thing about that flying knee is he didn't have to do it. He knew he was going to the ground if he missed, but he still did it, which shows he goes for the kill. He doesn't fight scared. That's what a champ should be.

At the end of that fight...did you have to speak Portuguese to know what the hell A. Silva was saying and felling?
Damn!
The man gives a fuck! He showed pride in his effort and his profession....
He trained, made weight and came in READY TO FIGHT.
He came out and beat an opponent at his own game. After Lutter won the TUF4 finale....A Silva said he was going to have to practice his BJJ. What technique won the fight for him?
Jerks can hate on him all they want, he takes this $hit seriously. We should enjoy his passion and effort for as long as we can.
If improving his takedown defense is something he wants to do, i have no reason to doubt that he'll make it a viable part of his arsenal.
The UFC has got a MW champion both in the ring and out....I hope people learn to appreciate it.

Silva is proving to be a great MW Champ. He's an amazing striker, can get it done on the ground, and always brings it. I'm just interested to see who his next opponent is going to be. I don't see Franklin getting a rematch for a while after being dominated like that. Maybe Mike Swick?

Listen I like Silva and think there are few that can beat him, but he did show no takedown defense against lutter. Now I realize that maybe he didn't need it and he could step it against a better opponent.
But if he fought like he did tonight against Hendo or Lindland he would get owned, that's all I said in another thread.

He defended several takedowns, he attempted a vicious flying knee that missed (which is what resulted in a takedown) and when he was down, he managed to get back up. Also, Lutter mounted him and Lutter was not even able to finish him, Silva got back up! And last but not least, he submitted Lutter! You can argue it was the elbows but even Rogan said it looked like Lutter was close to tapping from the triangle. His performance was not as dominating as his others were, but he is not going to have a highlight reel knock out every match. This was a bad style match up and he game out with an impressive win. So next person who blabs " A good wrestle would beat him!" All I have to say is

i agree totally, but i do think the triangle was a little loose cause his legs are so long, thats as tight as he can get it.
Long legs advantage for body triangle but disadvantage for neck triangle.
Just my opinion

To say Lutter had that shit won is just plain ignorance.
BTW Fitch is a 170 WW and NO he could not beat Silva.
