The return of Tito to UFC and even more, to Cali, was the reason I'm assuming he got paid so much.

Love him or hate him, he = buyrates on PPV and ticket sales in Cali.

I agree that the purse should ALWAYS be more for the winner than the loser though.

I think in the near future, the purses will go up as the popularity of the sport expands.

I just really hope that the corruption of boxing doesn't make its way in to MMA.

I'm no Tito fan, but the guy sells seats and PPVs. Shamrock vs Tito was the highest grossing PPV for UFC I believe.
