id be happy to bet against deigo in this fight, i said this was going to happen before it was a rumor, but ive also said alot of other shit too, only way deigo wins at this point and time is a fluke injury like penn got, i dont see this fight going past the 3rd round, im just giving deigo some props, he cant take gsp down and cant out strike him, gsp is faster and stronger

there is always a chance, but his chance is real small i think loosing will help deigo even more, you cant be the best until you have lost, unless your name is fedor

Well, Fedor does technically have a loss in his ledger, and seeing that one loss has probably driven him to the point that he works his ass off to guarantee there won't be a second one, no matter how bullshit it may be. In his two fights that weren't victories, against both Kohsaka and Nogueira, he completely dominated them in the rematches.
Anyway, I think Diego can last with GSP, but I don't think he'll win. He'll have a very hard time trying to take the fight to the ground, and he's not anywhere near GSP in terms of striking ability. I do think Diego is good enough to avoid suffering a big knockout or getting submitted (hold or strikes), but I think he will get stopped. My early prediction: Georges St. Pierre TKO via stoppage (either doctor or corner, because I think Diego would be able to fight back a little even if he is getting pounded on), 4th round.

Does Hughes have 1 or 2 fights left on his contract?

yes if this is true, Diego is finally gunna lose! personally id rather see him fight Hughes first though for #1 contender status, but seeing this will be good. WOW, lots of successful title defenses for Georges

because after GSP beats Diego, that can build a seperate 'rivalry'... whereas if Hughes beats Diego, he wont be getting that title shot anyyyyy time soon

WHy the rush? Diego and GSP are very young and aren't going anywhere. They will fight eachother several times before their careers are over regardless if they fight sooner then later. By the time UFC reaches the 20 year mark you will be sick of Sanchez Vs. GSP.
