Ok with Sherk possibly being suspended an entire year, will there be a fight for his belt or will the #1 contender get it?

This has happened twice before (Tim Sylvia, Josh Barnett) and each time the champ has been stripped of the title, so I'm guessing that the same will be true here unless he wins his appeal.

Ok but who gets the belt when it's stripped?

The #1 and #2 contenders fight for the vacant title. The winner is the new title holder.
At least that's been the precedent.

kung fu not used in mma?
i've always thought that mma was any and all styles of fighting. but i've noticed that the used just primarily kickboxing, boxing, wrestling and jiu-jitsu. i know there are among dozens more martial art styles out there. the first one that comes to mind is kung-fu. bruce lee, possibly the best martial artist of all time, was a kung-fu expert. anyway, i just wondered why we don't see more of what is really out there.

BC Kung Fu can not be used effectively in real life situations. If it could then you would see it in MMA.

I have seen some really great San Shou fighters (Cung Le comes to mind), but the Shaolin and the other forms of Kung Fu is a joke from what I have seen. Same with Karate.

I'd imagine that the quick kicks and punches don't work that well with a the wide stance that you need in order to not be taken down.
