And yes there are hundreds of state champions a year, because there so manny states in the east. Tiny little states smaller then counties out here have state championships. So it is safe to say a state Champion in California would probable take it in R.I. or Mass, or Con. etc. New Mexico is big state and wrestling is pretty big there. Diego winning state is a big deal compared to someone winning state New Hampshire. I say agree to disagree re: Hughes and Diego's wrestling skills. I'm not going to change my mind, and I doubt you will either.
Agreed, we both have our points and are probably stuck in our ways.

As for the East Coast thing. NY, NJ, PA, and OH are the best wrestling states in the country. And I would take a state champ from one of those states anyday of the week over one from the West Coast.

I'd never put down any of those states because Wrestling is alot more popular in all those states compared to out here, but there are a whole lot more schools and wrestlers out here. To win state in California is no joke. PA and OH are prelevent then NY and NJ, which is often compared to CA in competition because there are a shit load of kids and schools there as well. Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas, Iowa, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, Nevada and Florida all have great state competitions as well.
