Give me a break.......If you have watched UFC for over a year you would recognize that Matt Hughes should win this fight - Diego will one day be at a GSP/Hughes/Penn but not yet. It will be a hell of a fight 'cause Diego brings it...but not enough yet. Hughes will go back to his roots, grappling, submission, ground and pound, and take downs = win.

why dont you give some facts
right now Diego has better striking, better submission game, hes a damn good wrestler, and is too strong, too big for Matt to overpower.. Diego is just one step quicker then Matt and I dont see Matt being able to beat him, whats he gonna do? take Diego down and whats next? he isnt gonna submit him, hes gonna have a hard time pounding him.. meanwhile Diego CAN take Matt down, CAN outstrike Matt, and CAN Submit Matt.. Diego will win this fight.
Chances of Matt submitting Diego are slim, chances of Diego submitting Matt arent
Chances of Matt outstriking Diego are very slim, chances of Diego outstriking Matt arent

You have brought up some good points - but, besides the riggs fight (in which Hughes also won within minutes of round one). But the problem is that Diego isnt known as a finisher (oh wait, he finished Ken-FLo..haha), If you look at his fight history, his fight usually go the distance - Matts dont! Sure he just lost to GSP, but its been since Jan. of '04 since is has lost besides this latest fight----That is almost 3 years. and all but one of those fights did not go the distance. Sure you can say his striking is better or that he can submit Matt or defend the ground n pound, and compete with his stength.....but- You have never seen Diego fight the level of fighter that Matt Hughes has, Matts resume of victories speaks for itself - so what that he lost a fight with GSP, he will bounce back kick sanchez's ass also. Ok you can say he is getting old - but Remeber Liddells Loss to "rampage" (oh wait, you prob had no clue what MMA was back then). People that he was over the hill - my ass. Hughes has much more experience and is a smarter fighter than Diego and will come prepared to beat Sanchez, even if it goes the rounds (3) or (5). Until Sanchez has some big name victories I dont believe your argument is that legit....sorry.....wait n see.

Diego just ain't at Matt's level yet. IMO, right now 9 times out of 10 Matt gets the win. First round or early second.
I hope to see this match soon.

Matt by far outwrestles and outpowers Diego, I think even Diego would admit that. But I give the fight to Diego. Rear naked Choke. Matt gives up his back way to much and is probably to set in his ways to greatly improve upon it. I think like GSP, Diego is to quick and his JJ is to good for Matt to handle. Diego has a really slick ground game, he transitions to the back from the guard really well, Penn can do it all day to Hughes so why not Diego.

I think what we have learned from his last two fights, is that Hughes is most vuknerable to good striking. Penn was winning the standup, and GSP dominated him standing. I know Diego is improving, but I dont think his stand up is on par with GSP's. I see it going to the ground, and Hughes pulling it out.

exactly, people can nock diego all they want but the truth is he always finds a way to win, eventually that becomes harder and harder to ignore

Who is this guy saying that Afro doesn't know who Rampage was back then? (3 years ago, a real long time...) Buddy, you are new, so I will let you in on a secret. Don't get into an argument about Rampage with Afro, I am fairly new and I know that.
Diego vs. Hughes would be a great fight in my opinion, which would probably go to a decision. Since when are decisions against top competition a bad thing? Diaz and Karo are great fighters. Wouldn't you rather watch 15 minutes of a kickass fight more than 4? I see Hughes winning by decision, partly because of name, partly because of his ground control. Diego can't outmuscle Hughes, he can get him down, but he can't outmuscle him.
To be pessimistic I don't see this fight happening, I see Matt Hughes retiring after losing to GSP again in April.

I'm just not understanding why all of a sudden everyone is under estimating Hughes and then hyping Diego. Diego goes to a decision with Nick Diaz, Alessio and Karo and then KO's Riggs and now everyone is saying Diego can beat Hughes or get a title shot. I'm not saying Diego is some can because he is not but I do not see him beating Hughes right now, who is the most dominant WW in history. Afro raises good points/arguments on the matter but he knows as well as I do that Hughes is unpredictable a lot of times and surprises all the time. I mean he beat GSP the first time and beat Penn the 2nd time pulling god knows what out of his ass to win. The point is he seems to always find a way. There is a reason he has the record he does and dominated like he did. The guy doesnt even go into fights with a gameplan and he is that successful. This would for sure be a good fight but at the present time I'd bet on Hughes over Diego.

diego is one of my least favorite fighters in the ufc, but no one can deny he is good, that knockout against rigss was impressive, i dont know why but i can see diego winning, i think hughes is on his way towards retirement, both fighters are about evenly matched so it could either way, hughes has the experience but diego is hungry
