Are you seriously trying to tell me Frank Mir is a someone? Let me tell you something about Frank Mir. Not only has his endurance to last through a whole fight died, but his ablity to dominate another pro-fighter has died as well when he crash his motorcycle. Frank Mir will never be the fighter he was, nor will he beat anyone good ever again. Yes, I know who Frank Mir is.

I say Vera is not overrated - he's the next HW champ, and maybe the next man to beat Chuck.

I don't think even now Mir or Silva are pushovers, but they're not serious contenders either. Still, completely destroying mid level guys is impressive and I think it implied Vera is in the same class as Tim or AA. He's certainly more technically skilled than Tim. But since he hasn't been tested yet, it's all speculation as to how he'll do against Tim. Since he hasn't been tested, it's not really possible to overrate him yet. With some of his wins, though, it would probably be underrating him to say he's not even approaching top tier.

I'll be pulling for him, though I have my doubts. I just want a heavyweight champ who is exciting again.

you can't just write off a former champ and call him a can, especially when the guy is coming back from a life-threatening accident, i know he's not the Frank Mir of the past but give him a little credit, i really felt in your first post you could have included an exception

I think Mir was his easiest win in the UFC. I'm not putting Mir down personally. I am equally impressed with the fact he is fighting and not dead, but I think he will ever be able to effectively fight again compared to how he was. Besides I never called him a can. I find that to be an offense name to any professional fighter. No one who ever makes a post on this page will ever know what it is like to fight in Pride or UFC, and it is just plain ignorant to refer to any fighter as a can.
