IMO Chucks +/- over the last 3 years:
+ Takedown defense
+ Intelligence (pushing his gameplan)
+ Punching power
- Kicking
- Agressiveness
- Speed
- Cardio
Things I assume by not facing Strikers:
- Strike avoidance
- Moving his head
- Chin (small decrease since it has not been tested)

Also, if they fight in UFC chuck would have home court advantage. But I agree I think overall pride has better all around figters.

great point and post. I just had not paid any attention to his posts in the past so I had no idea he was that ignorant.

Nice investigative work. Don't you people have a life? Anyways, do either of you two fight or train? I ask you because if you did, you would be able to tell how Chucks striking style is much more refined as well as much more devastating then it was when he fought in Pride. Some things are easier to know and see versus argue against someone who will never change their mind. I never said he was number 1, I said he twice the striker he was when he fought Rampage. I never even said he would beat Rampage. My only point is: what is the basis (besides 1 fight a ways back) to degrade a Champion’s accomplishments due to any reason until he loses, especially when that Champion is so dominate? I understand how Pride fans feel that way, but Pride fans are always biased against anything not Pride. I come to this page to get the MMA news. What do you two contribute other then spending your whole day UFC bashing? Hypergit, that's real cheap of you to pull quotes from past post regarding other situations, how much time did you spend looking for that?

10 seconds - it was your second post here (hence second one I saw when I searched). I could have used the first though, or third etc...

For someone who trains you sure spend alot of time on the interenet. Your coach must be pretty disappointed in you.

Ur.. yeah because the best thing to do is train all day every day - not enough DOMS during training is a sure sign that you aren't training hard enough...
btw, for someone who is supposed to be a 30 year old mma fan and practicioner, it sure surprises me that you don't appreciate both UFC -and- Pride at least to some extent...
This is the last time you will be getting a response from me, tool, although I will certainly read through some of your posts and your future flamings when I'm in need of a laugh or two.
git.

I have a lot of respect for the fighters is Pride. I don't deny that they are very good. Not to be an English Major dick, but you're calling yourself a tool, not me.

Chuck has not refined his style since Rampage, that was just the last striker he faced, what he has done is just adjusted his gameplan to fit his opponent (which every fighter should do) it just so happens that all of his opponents since Rampage have been wrestlers and grapplers so the gameplan is the exact same, don't get taken down.
His striking is no more devistating than it was back then, look at what he did to Randleman, Mezger, Babalu and Overeem.
Of his wins in the past 4 years the most difficult ones have come in his PRIDE fights, Guy Mezger whom had Chuck hurt and and Overeem whom had Chuck nearly folded from viscious knees to the body, Overeem gassed and Chuck finished the fight like the warrior he is.
His confidence has surely grown which can play a huge factor in a fight but I think that has a great deal to do with the fact he has only been facing wrestlers and grapplers since his dissmantling by Rampge so it is very comforting knowing that with your sick takedown defense these wrestlers and grapplers are goign to have to beat you at your own game which is striking.
I don't think Chuck would have that same confidence against Rampage or any other great striker with a well rounded game.
As far is training goes, no I don't actively train, I do work out 5 times per week which includes cardio and weights and I eat very healthy (no fast food or junk food), eat protien bars and shakes, take NOXCG3 (I used to take other Creatine in the past but stopped because it gave me rage) and Muscle Milk (I have found these to be the best tasting shakes on the market, they are more expensive but well worth it). I just learned the JJ game from a Big Nog video and one of my older brothers friends trains with Din Thomas and he has showed me some stuff as well. Standup wise, I don't know any kickboxing but have been in a lot of fights in my life and have good power in both of my hands and pretty good footwork and movement for someone with no training.
In a fight with someone as long as it was a 1 on 1 fight with no one being a bitch and jumping in, I feel supremely confident that my standup and submission knowledge would win the fight as long as the guy I am fighting does not train actively. I know how to strike with my dominant leg but do not quite have the flexibility to kick someone in the head and I have never used kicks in a fight unless I dropped someone with punches because I have always been worried about being countered and dropped by punches for throwing a leg kick. But certainly no wild swinging and flailing and fighting with my hands to my side, it's just easy pickens when someone comes at you like that, kinda like when fighting someone intoxicated.
