UFC 63 in Ohio?
I cant ever remember a UFC event in Ohio. Have they ever been here before or are they just wanting to start hitting different areas again? I hope this is true that they are coming to Columbus because its not THAT far from me! Does anyone know for sure if this event location is set in stone???

I hope this is true. If it is it makes sense. There is a good educated fan base here and its the 13th largest city with 4 major cities within 2.5 hours of driving distance. Great facility in the Nationwide arena and alot of fighters from Ohio. Rich Franklin, Matt Hamil, Forrest Griffin, Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman, and Mark Kerr. Last three not relivant but it has built up a fan base here...

The Columbus Blue Jackets hockey team which uses the arena there, is on the road for that date. So they definitely will have access to a big arena on that date.

Nope, not the first. The UFCs used to travel all over before they went big time. UFC 21 was held not far from me in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
I would be thrilled to have the UFCs traveling again. Ohio is a lot closer than Vegas, that's for sure.
Dare I hope that they would come back to Iowa. One things for sure, the locals wouldn't be booing the ground game here.
I went to a local event last night. If that can pull in a crowd in the thousands the night before Thanksgiving, then I don't think a UFC would have a problem selling out.

It is possible that they come could back to Iowa but with Hughes losing the title that would have to hurt the chances of that happening.

um Forrest was born in Ohio, but he actually claims Atlant, Georgia...just thought i'd throw that in there LOL
but its good for the UFC to venture out to other states...CA, FL, and now Ohio. good stuff IMO!
