henderson would bulldoze most any of the MW-LHW competitors outside the UFC, and may be the guy to derail the rise of mousasi. while there are plenty of matches i'd love to see from him in the UFC right now, strikeforce getting him isn't at all a bad thing.
though i must admit... hendo vs fedor actually intrigues me.

Indeed it does, my only question is will Strikeforce manage to make it as a promotion? Only time will tell, I'm really pulling for Strikeforce to be successful.
Dan Henderson is a dependable workhorse who has the potential to be a champion once again. However, in Dana's eyes he's not a marketable champion. Sure he's a badass but he's a reserved guy with a face made for radio and a less-than-compelling personality.
Quite simply, they probably have internal research that indicates Dan is not worth what he feels he deserves. Let SF have him along with Fedor and those guys can suck all of the oxygen (cash) out of the coffers ala Affliction.
The thing the UFC is really banking on is that they haven't really built Dan Henderson into a Huge USA star yet. He's been in the UFC for a little bit now and is only (3 - 2)(of which, I really felt like he lost to Franklin). He's been choked out, had 3 decisions, and knocked Bispings face clean off his body. Those are hardly bargaining chips for 500k guaranteed pay. I can see the UFC offering him the 200 or 300k with no win bonus pay, but he can't headline a UFC event and guarantee 700k buys, so why pay him like a Randy Couture?
The UFC is not gonna offer him more money. I can see Dan going to Strikeforce simply because its a non exclusive contract, so he could go fight for DREAM and Sengoku and make that Uber Japanese dollar where he is MORE than popular enough to demand that kinda money. I think right now at this time in his career, Dan is more about the money than the championship, even though he is making a big deal about Vitor getting the initial nod.
I think the 2 sides of this coin right now are Fight for UFC, decent money and have greater exposure and the marketing that comes along with the UFC brand... Or Fight for Strikeforce, less money outright, but more possiblity of pay days across seas barring any injuries and whatnot.

DO NOT BE SURPRISED, if dana is just being as slippery as ever. He probably made a deal with henderson to PRETEND like he was turning down the ufc's offer, just so strikeforce will sign him for big bucks, and put themselves into financial trouble. Doesn't anyone find it odd that dana is mentioning SO many "potential matchups" that strikeforce could do.
Dana is brilliant, but the problem is he thinks he's way smarter than he actually is. Scott Coker will probably fall for this and sign henderson for one or two fights, pay him too much, and go down under. CHECK AND MATE STRIKEFORCE. game over

lol, whereas I'd like to say this is beyond Dana...It probably isn't beyond him lol. But Coker won't make stupid decisions about Henderson. He's got lawyers and money men that tell him what is worth what and whats not. He won't fall for any stupid plots, and honestly the UFC doesn't really need to force Strikeforce into dumping all their profits, they did that when they signed Fedor to his multi million dollar deal.

I know conspiracy theories are a mainstay of the internet....but this one is out of this world nuts.
i dont consider that a conspiracy theory, thats simple business tactics...makes sense if it were true...
I dont understand why hendo cant just settle for what hes offered in the UFC. he doesnt belong anywhere else. he would be a great addition to strikeforce, but i'd rather see him stay and compete in the UFC. he needs that rematch with Silva.
wait, nevermind, i just read that over. the whole dana making a deal with dan to pretend blah blah, i dont think so... but letting Dan out into the waters, i could see Dana counting on strikeforce picking him up and dumping cash into him...then after a few fights, he could make a comeback to the UFC, who knows...
