Actually when someone goes for a keylock on you, you should do exactly what Hughes did and rotate against it. That is awesome BJJ.

Hughes is an awesome fighter no matter how much you dislike the guy. He knows his shit.

I think GSP will KO Hughes early in the first round. It's Hughes' one obvious weakness, and I think GSP is big enough, good enough reach, explosive punches... I think it'll happen. I guess maybe if he plays it safe, and is afraid of Hughes' takedown, then maybe he won't go for the KO.

Just because it is his bread and butter or that he has a certain belt, doesn't mean that he can apply it against Hughes. On the other hand we know that Hughes can apply it against GSP.

That said, I think this will be a very close fight. I know that GSP is better in the stand-up and quickness. I Know that Hughes is better in wrestling, take-downs and take-down defense, and experience. I think that he is also better at actually getting submissions and submission defence. I think he also has a slight edge in mental toughness and cardio. That leads me to give Hughes the edge. However, I do realize that it could go either way if there is a mistake by either fighter.

Please tell us all the the great fighters that GSP has gotten a KO on. The silence is deafening. Only person he is knocked out is Jay Hieron and he is hardly a great fighter. I know that some of you have believe that there is stone tablets come down from God above that say GSP is a great striker with super human KO ability, but so far NO ONE has seen that KO ability. There is no doubt that he is a better striker than Hughes. There is also no doubt that he is not THAT GOOD of a striker. This is just not going to be ended by punches from the stand up.

this is a hard one to call but im gonna say hughes.i think it will go all the way to the judges though.i think hughes will take it because he has the experience and he has been here before and prevailed.i like what hughes said before when your champ every opponent you fight is dangerous

I like GSP for a few reasons.

He's hungry. I've never seen a challenger for Hughes' belt this hungry since the first BJ Penn fight, and we all know what happened there. Hughes is saying that GSP is "just another challenger" and that could hurt him. If he underestimates GSP because he already beat him then he's gonna find himself in big trouble.

I give all the respect in the world to Matt Hughes and I'd say he's one of the best p4p of all time, but I think Saturday night is gonna belong to GSP.
