Come on man, the HOF is becoming a joke. You don't just get into a HOF for winning a couple of fights. You have to be something special, someone who stood out from the rest, an enigma, a phenomenon who set the world on fire at one time or another and won titles and beat the best in the world and came back from defeat, etc like Muhammad Ali. None of these guys did anything overly special. If you're going to place these guys in a HOF, then you might as well put Tim Sylvia and Rich Franklin and crap like that in the HOF too since they accomplished as much or more than these guys in the octagon.
I also don't think the HOF concept should even exist in the UFC, not for at least 20 years from now. The company is still really young, it's only been in existence for 13 years. It's still trying to establish its brand in the world and yet we have a HOF already and placing a bunch of guys who never really did anything special in their careers, other than win 1 or 2 tournys during a time when most competitors had bar brawling backgrounds at best.

since the ufc is so young as of now the hall of fame isn't really about fighting records like it will be in a few more years, its more about helping the sport progress. With that in mind I say someone like tank deserves some thought. People starting watching the sport just to see people like tank fight. In no way am I saying that Tank is a great fighter, but he turned a lot of people on to it. And as of now that seems to be enough to get in.

I agree, Tank was, and is a huge draw. He is entertaining, win or lose. Tank should get some consideration for the Hof.

These guys were good originals, but if we're just talking UFC careers then i'd put them in this order as far as success and a name in the UFC....
Don Frye
Mark Coleman
Oleg Taktarov
Marco Ruas
In mma as a whole....
Mark Coleman (the 2000 gp win i hold high)
Don Frye (one of my favorite fighters of all time)
Oleg Taktarov (more active than Ruas and was, imo, the first REAL warrior with Royce a close 2nd or maybe tied for 1st)
Marco Ruas (GREAT fighter but didn't fight enough and i always hated the foot stomp! lol)

So I guess Ken Shamrock did nothing special in his career during his prime, beating the best and winning multiple king of Pancrase titles and Superfight titles must be nothing. Royce Gracie redifining how the American audience saw martial arts in terms of what really is most effective in a fight, that must be nothing. Its also nothing that he had to fight three times in one night against guys that were always bigger and stronger than him and dominant in thier chosen martial art, and do it with next to no rules, for the most part no time limits and no wieght classes and still prevail, that's nothing. Dan Severn educating the American public as to the importance and dominance of wrestling in a fight when boxing was erroneously considered the best form of fighting, and winning multiple tornaments along the way, that's nothing. Yeah I can see how the people that pioneered the sport in this country and had great careers in it don't deserve to be in a hall of fame. And most of the fighters they faced were top of the line in their chosen martial art, not simply just a bunch of bar room brawlers. i guess we should wait until they're dead to induct them. No real reason to honor them while they're still alive.
