None of these guys did anything overly special. If you're going to place these guys in a HOF, then you might as well put Tim Sylvia and Rich Franklin and crap like that in the HOF too since they accomplished as much or more than these guys in the octagon.
I also don't think the HOF concept should even exist in the UFC, not for at least 20 years from now. The company is still really young, it's only been in existence for 13 years. It's still trying to establish its brand in the world and yet we have a HOF already and placing a bunch of guys who never really did anything special in their careers, other than win 1 or 2 tournys during a time when most competitors had bar brawling backgrounds at best.

What r u talking about? If Ken is in the HOF then Coleman damn well bettert be. Common man? Coleman only won back to back UFC tournaments and was the first hw champ. I think that gets some consideration.
BTW u love starting with thread starters it getting old bud.

In all honesty the sport is nowhere near the need for a UFC Hall of Fame at this point. There is a HOF obviously but I would see that more as a marketing ploy then anything else. If I'm not mistaken most UFC HOFers are still fighting or have fought recently. And IMO Hughes, Liddell, and Tito will probably be the next HOFers.

Exactly what I'm saying. Good point. I'm not against a HOF but come on, the company's been around for only 13 years now. And alot of the guys getting consideration are still active.

people who accomplished monumental things in the sport deserve a place in the HoF.
when Mark Coleman leaves Pride, either for retirement or the small shows, put him in. multiple tourney champ that is known as the FATHER of GnP, one of the most commonly used styles, especially in the UFC.
another requirement should be that they're not a dickhead alcoholic like Tank

Ken should not be in the HOF. Neither he nor Coleman. I wouldn't make a UFC HOF until some years down the road. 13 years is pretty damn soon to be suddenly throwing a few 90s fighters into a HOF. Look at Lennox Lewis, an Olympic gold medalist, started his pro career in 1989, fought for 15 years, won all titles, unified, fought top comp, avenged all losses, retired in 2004. Nobody has even considered him a HOF candidate yet. But in the UFC, you just need to win a couple of tournys and a Superfight to suddenly be the biggest thing since sliced bread, and all those fighters are still f*cking active.
Please understand my viewpoint. I'm not dissing the UFC or the HOF or past fighters. But it's ridiculous and stupid to be just throwing these guys into a HOF the way they're doing. In 2 years, at this rate Tito, Chuck, Tim Sylvia, etc will all be thrown into a HOF. Gimme a break!

read the above post ajl and u can see what HOF's are for. Its grounds to give recognition to the companies pioneers.

Ok, so it's a different kind of HOF than what I'm talking about, apparently. Why not call it HOP instead? Hall of Pioneers?

It's not just pioneers.
As we continue into the future the newer guys inducted won't be pioneers. Maybe innovators, but not really pioneers.
