I disagree, his ground game looked pretty shitty in some previous Pride fights.

NTM his whole gameplan is based around his standup (accurate strikes + muy thai clinches)

Oh my god, Franklin lost a fight against a very good striker, time to go back to math class. I mean damn, 22-2 means nothing and the fact he is a former UFC Champion. But damn he lost to the unbeatable Anderson Silva and will never be able to come back from that. Come on guys, are you kidding me? First Franklin is a one of a kind fighter in MMA, as he wasnt a stand out in anyone discpline before he started. I am a pretty good wrestler with some soild BJJ skills and I still wouldnt imagine getting in the octagon since I cant strike worth a damn. And this guy did it with almost no background and has been learning everything since day one in training for the most part.

Plus you think he would come in the same game plan? I kind of doubt that. Chris Leben said it best about Silva, the guy has beat some of the best fighters in the world, but the guys he has lost too arent anything super special they just refused to fight Silva's game plan. So in a rematch I could see Franklin taking Silva down and GnP to a victory. And honestly, unlike everyone else on this fourm that sees Silva as some unstoppable striking machine, I wouldnt be surpised if the guy isnt champ any more by the time Franklin fights for the title. Lister, Marquant, and even Lutter have a decent shot at beating Silva. So to write Franklin off now, is pretty stupid.
