Akiyama Press Conference in Japan - Talks Contract, Title Shot

Yoshihiro Akiyama held a press conference today in Tokyo to address his recent signing of an exclusive contract with the UFC. He revealed that his deal would be for six fights, with the first to come in August. Akiyama confirmed that he would stay in the middleweight division, and said that Dana White wants to build him up to face Anderson Silva. He offered a statement of confidence:
"I want to press forward, never forgetting the feeling of challenge. Right now we are in a depression but when you see the fight I put up, conditions will turn around!"
God, I hope so. Even though it was an illegal blow, I really hope that nearly getting his head kicked off by Misaki hasn't deadened his ability to pull the trigger.
On another note, I hope he still makes his entrance to "Time to Say Goodbye."
I hope he goes good. I really want to see a japanese fighter hold a title.

I'm not entirely sure he realizes what he's gotten himself into.
I understand the business side of this but business won't mean shit inside the cage. There is no room in the mw's to try and groom a contender. I know Zuffa wants to go to Japan but unless they plan on going this summer or for New Years I don't see this working.
Although Okami Vs Akiyama in Japan on New Years would probably do well, even as an eliminator.
Well I'm pretty excited to see him fight in the UFC. I wonder who he'll fight first? Then there is always the rematch with Kang to look forward to as well.
